My daughter has 15 snowglobes. A few from Disney, mostly Christmas ones.

We had a whole fixture stocked full of snow globes for about the first 2 years I worked at the Disney Store. Then, corporate decided to discontinue them.
I don't remember how many others stores they did same at, but, we had a whole bunch of disappointed Guests for quite a while.

It's strange what people remember about the big historical events. Yesterday was the anniversary of the Challenger explosion. I remember watching that on tv and I remember watching the explosions, seeing my teacher go over to the tv turning it off and telling us it was time for recess. It was nowhere near the time for recess so my friends and I (4th graders at the time) knew something had gone wrong and I remember sitting on a snowbank with my friends talking about. By the time we all came in from recess our teacher had figured out what to tell us, and after that point I don't remember anything else about that day.

On 9/11 I had a classroom full of kids and I remember telling them about it and we watched a little of it on a VHS tape a parent brought in as our school didn't have cable at the time. Our school board approved getting cable at the the next school board meeting after the event. But it didn't hit me what happened until I went to the gym after work and people were walking around the gym in a daze and some were just sitting at a machine staring at the tv. That's the funny thing about history, there are certain facts that are true about an event and then everyone has their own memories about it too.

Well don't know what happened to that post but I'll try it again.

I was sitting in my office when my manager came out of his office and announced the Challenger. Cringe. Manager dude was an idiot. Nobody liked him. He was from Austria and there was a complete disconnect to American decorum, always. His views of women were 19th century. He was totally broken up about the catastrophe. I was equally in dismay over his mourning as I was over the disastrous day.

Immediately we had a gag order for our K-8 about 9/11 the day of and immediately after. One of the better decisions my board ever made. Way too many emotions and fears to inflict on the young. Our district made an all call to parents early morning and explained we would stay in session however parents could claim their children in person without penalties until further notice if they thought that to be best for their families. We decided that parents vs teachers should be discussing this event with children first not our staff. Heck, I didn't know what to do with my own kids, couldn't judge others.

Our schools had access to cable as it is law-free cable delivered to schools with business license to cable company. Good negotiation way back. Our District office did not, as an "office." That building is oddly land locked and we had to pay dearly to bring cable to that building due to 9/11. Our highest level administrators did not have access to current news and streaming wasn't a thing then. It was a poor knee jerk decision that thankfully wasn't worthy of the expense. Who knew?

Sometimes the IV can be the the worst part. I have had difficult times with that, and one time it had to be put in on the top of my hand. Boy that hurt!

I hope your surgical procedure went well.

Fortunately, I've never had a problem with needles, 'cause my veins seem to be very hard for many to find, and I've had to be stuck multiple times, many times.
And, I know I've had at least 2 blood draws and one IV in the top of my hands.
I actually don't remember those feeling any different than my arms, though.
Lucky, I guess, 'cause I can see how the combination of multiple sticks and a fear of needles could be really annoying...! ;)

Sympathy like. I blame the change to cold weather.
Oh, probably. I need to eventually move south just for health reasons. It is mighty suspicoius that I've been in a lot of warm weather since December and have had colds and such while I was away with no asthma symptoms, and I get back and immediately start with asthma symptoms. I told my mom that when I move out, it will likely be moving south, not just moving out.

Mine was on the top of my hand. The hospital had this little scanner with uv light that showed the blood vessels in your skin. That was the first time I ever saw something like it. The procedure was quick and I just have to take it easy for a few days.

I've read about that scanner before, but, have yet to have it used on me anywhere.
So glad the procedure went well, and that you'll be up and at 'em in a few days...! :)

Weather was calm--sun was out, no ice, no nothing. After the bus trek home, I put on the dishwasher (we only run it once a week, because it's just hubs and me--we don't use a lot of dishes). However, since it wasn't Saturday, hubs had to ask me why I put on the dishwasher on a Friday afternoon o_O (routine, you know . . . ;) ).

So, I told him that since I had a few hours of freedom, I'd start one of the weekend chores now and get it out of the way. He told me I wasn't supposed to do that on my time off--I should go do something fun. But since I'm boring and practical, I was ecstatic about knocking out one of my weekend chores on a Friday afternoon! :joyfull:

I'm just like you. Give me a spare moment and I'm thinking ahead. But woot for the hubby. Sweet that he wants you to enjoy the tiny breaks you are given. {{{HUGS}}} and good guy award to him. :inlove:

They must be angling for a great Boss's day gift! :) Seriously, though that is awesome. I hope you had some fun with your bonus weekend hours.

A concept I never grasped. Boss's day. I get boxing day, secretary's day and the likes, giving a kind gesture to the subordinates. How that turned around to gift the emperor's is a bit wacky to me.

I had a laugh not long ago. I had a visit to my ortho. The pre exam questionnaire asked if it was a workmans comp claim. Same from the Doc's assistant. I guess in reality it was work related but owning my own business and it is strictly a me, myself and I business it seemed irrelevant. What was I going to do, sue myself? :banghead: Oy.

She will miss you. You guys seem to be joined at the hip like my DD and I are. Some relationships are just like that. Still we wish you the best that can be had. My goal for both of my kids was to raise productive, well educated kids that bring something to the world. I hit my goal and my job is done. Now we are besties. It is a great feeling. Now I want warmth.

Hello again everybody, as I'm currently typing this I'm currently back in the hospital (A different Hospital this time) this time it might have to do with me passing out three times this morning. So far I like this hospital a lot more than the previous one from last March. I will give you more updated about this later today. I will be at the hospital for a few days but I'm more braver this time.
Get well soon prayers and pixie dust xoxo

You would love California. Your boys would love Carsland, the Indiana Jones ride...Space Mountain currently has an awesome Star Wars overlay, plus they have a ton of dark rides out there, like Monster's Inc, Pinnochio, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, Alice in Wonderland, Snow White, Rodger Rabbit...tons to do. If I can take a vacation this summer, I'm actually thinking maybe going on the DL trip with my parents and then just a long weekend in WDW...long enough to swim in Stormalong Bay, see the new AK stuff, and hop on TofT. Then I would go back to WDW with them in the winter.

The setup of DL is more like Uni, from what I understand. The parks are less than a football field away from one another, and DTD is right there next to the parks. There's plenty of good neighbor hotels that are super close. As in, walk across the street and you're there. There's also more rides in each park than the WDW parks.

Uni out there, from what I understand, isn't as good as Orlando, but it's an actual working studio, which is neat, and they still have Harry Potter World there. You could probably make a day out of it. There's also other parks out there, too, plus beaches.
Thank you but who said the boys would be involved:D
