In other news, whatever medicine they gave to my grandma, its insane. She has been 3 nights in a row saying incoherences and talking to the wall or at nothing at night.yelling very loudly. Like reviving some memories of her youth. Worse is when she tried to push herself out of the bed to try to stand (she cant, she's too weak!) so I had to sit down a few on her room to prevent her from moving out.. then my mother took charge.. went to sleep at 5:00 am x_x

I hate ice!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Right now it's a mix of sleet and snow and is expected to change over and then we're going to get 4-10(you our guys a :brb:) of heavy wet carp. It looks like with what's coming in there will be at least a delay if not a closing tomorrow.:coldfeet::cold::grumpy::cry::cry::cry::cry: I guess we're going to watch The Tenth Kingdom, good but somewhat twisted fun for shut ins:hilarious: Come here little groundhog and show yourself:angelic::angelic::angelic::angelic::angelic: Have I ever mentioned how much I hate winter? BTW it was in the 60s and my windows were open the past couple of days.:cautious:

It may be that her dosage is a bit too strong. Still, I wouldn't cut it down without a doctor's approval. Medicines are chemicals and different people (and different age groups) have various reactions. It can be a bit of a carp shoot, trial and error, before they find something that will produce the effect they're looking for, with your grandmother.

This is very common, and it can take time before they find the right balance for her. And if she's on any other medications, that can also present a challenge to get the right mix, and balance everything out. I wish her and your family well, while you're going through this challenging stage.

Sorry to hear about that. Did you call the doctor, perhaps they could prescribe something else? That kind of behavior happens to my sister if she takes codeine so she can't take take, unless she wants to behave crazily.

Sorry to hear about your bad weather. At least you'll have some fun watching a movie with the boys.

After nearly three weeks, I am finally on my way home. Happy, but exhausted. I fully intend to sleep until noonn tomorrow. I also fully expect to get yelled at by Belle when I get home.

I'm sure it will feel good to be home. What a great three weeks you've had though! Give Belle some snuggles and a treat and she might forgive you. When do you start the new job?

yes, my doctor insists that she is fine health wise...but still..

Thats what my mother and I were thinking, but the doctor actually maintained the dosage and added another medicine to the fray to try to calm her down at night.
Since she is really in danger if she wakes up at night and tries to walk move.

Falls are a major issue with a number of seniors. I hope this all gets resolved very soon, for her own safety.

Well, hubby went back into the doctor today since it didn't seem like his cough was getting any better. Doc says he still has pneumonia and gave him more antibiotics, an inhaler, and some steroids. I hope this clears it up.

Wow. Pneumonia is nothing to take lightly. If his lungs are starting to tighten up a bit, the steroids will help that. Eventually, he should be fine and can wean off them. I hope he feels better soon. This has been hanging on for some time now.

It has been around since Christmas, I was going to make him go into the doctor this week as I was getting worried. I was shocked when he mentioned on Saturday night that he was going to call on Monday (today) for an appointment.

I was also getting worried when last week he started talking about signing up to do the Polar Plunge in a couple weeks. The Polar Plunge is a fund raiser for the Special Olympics where participants raise money for the task of jumping into a lake....cut a hole in the ice and jump in. I told him it wasn't a good idea with recovering with pneumonia, and I was ready to be tough and forbid him to do it but after a large coughing fit he finally agreed with me.
