Hopefully everyone that lives in the South is safe today, heard there's a good chance of some nasty tornadoes today.

I hope for the safety of the people in the South as well. This report doesn't sound good -- from NOAA --
  • A particularly dangerous situation tornado watch is in effect until 8 p.m. EST for parts of Georgia, north Florida and southeast Alabama. This watch area includes Atlanta, Macon, and Valdosta in Georgia, along with Gainesville, Tallahassee and Jacksonville in Florida. In Alabama, the watch includes Dothan and Montgomery.

Ha! Actually, once the young animals bond together, they're buddies for life. :cat:
I'm sure we would all like to think that way, but, a dog is a domesticated animal that goes back a number of generations. A Cheetah, in spite of being a cool spokes-cat for Cheetos, is a wild animal and will resort to instincts if they find it necessary. I'm not saying that some won't stay calm (as long as they are feed properly), but, I wouldn't want to turn my back on any of them no matter how many puppy buddies they ever had. Ask Siegfried and Roy, well Roy how fast they can go back to nature.

True, all animals will use their inherent instincts when necessary. (And, I'd never turn my back on a wild animal either, for that matter.) I was just pointing out that this puppy/cheetah phenomenon has been in effect for 30 years in various locations. :) Here's a little video of just one of them (Busch Gardens) --

A Cheetah is VERY DIFFERENT (cheetahs behave more like dogs than cats) from Tigers, Leopards and Lions.
Siegfried and Roy's accident was because the Tiger pulled him like a puppy (from the back of his neck). Thinking the public was a threat.
Cats do pull their kits like that. Unfortunately for Roy and Siegfried... That is nearly lethal to a human body.

Cheetahs have been found also that they do not attack or pounce when you're not looking at them.
Tigers, Leopards and Lions do pounce by instinct.

Well, that is exactly the natural instincts that I was referring too. Even if the Tiger was trying to protect him, and I'd like to see the interview where the Tiger told them that, I have yet to see a dog, unless trained to, that would automatically go to that procedure. We don't know what motivated the Tiger, it's just a bunch of animal lovers that so often try to interject human reasoning into an animal. There are probably hundreds of reasons why they react the way they do and having not had it bred out of them, they are hardwired to respond. My post was just a joke anyway, but, deep down I don't believe it was that far off the mark. Why do some dogs still react negatively to cats and some just love to be friends.

I understand that! There is an RN at my Doctor's office that does the blood draws. I always kid him that if I faint, just to hurry up and get it done before he wakes me - not to worry, I'll be fine. The truth of the matter is he is the best Nurse I have ever had for drawing blood! First time, every time! No multiple pokes or digging around with the needle! :)
I get that. It once took a new nurse SIX tries to get an IV in. Now on Friday I have to have a procedure done in the hospital. I'm more scared of the needle/IV than what's being done.
