We are at urgent care for hubby. He still has hives, and he wanted to get it checked out before we head to Chicago.

Part of me hopes it is something that makes him think we should not go to see his family in Chicago. I might be a terrible person.

Maybe it's because of all the Christmas Day services he had to do--so many of them. Plus, you said he wasn't feeling well and losing his voice all at the same time. Maybe between whatever bug he had, as well as the added pressure at church services, his might have been a bit run down. Easy to see how that could happen. Just a hunch. I hope he feels better very soon.

You aren't. That's the whole point of living down this way. If I ever feel the uncontrollable urge to make one, I'll hire someone to bring a snowmaking machine to our house...! :D ;)

:( But . . .but . . . Snowmen are fun . . . maybe I can share a picture of one for you.

The doctors said the cough/voice is part of a respiratory coldand gave him some condone cough syrup. Hubby did a strep test and it came back negative. He said the hives could be part of the virus or stress and told him to take Claritin and keep an eye on it. We were pretty sure it was not a new allergy since he has done nothing new.

He should spend the next few days in bed and eat lots of soup. Hope he's all better soon xoxo

@donaldtoo , those were some nice photos you shared. Your mother's wedding gown looked exquisite in that picture.

That old phonograph is amazing--and it still works for him! (I imagine it must be difficult to find a replacement stylus for that old model, though.)

Food feast looked Yum City!!!

Everyone looked like they were having fun. :)

Your daughter is a talented artist--very nice paintings.

Yep, that wedding dress is indeed beautiful. I doubt it was very expensive though, as both my folks weren't rollin' in the dough, and came from humble family farm backgrounds. :)

The old phonograph is a hoot! I remember when it was still in my grandparents (on my pops side) house. There are actually about 3 replacement styluses for it in the cabinet, and the one on there now hasn't been used very much at all for many years, as it's rarely played. Have never checked into replacement styluses, so, not sure about that, but, I would imagine it might be difficult to locate them.
SonIL and oldest DD have become very interested in vinyl records in recent years, and these were even before vinyl. I asked SonIL if he wanted to hear it play, and he thought it would be too much trouble. I convinced him not...you should have seen his face when we played some of that old music for him...it was priceless...!

Yep, feast was YUM-O-LICIOUS as always..!!! :hungry:

And, yes. It was definitely very enjoyable family time...!

Thanks about DDs art! She has fun with it!
The cityscape is one of her interpretations of downtown Austin at night. That building in the middle is the Frost Bank Tower...we've always just called it the "Batman Building", though...! :hilarious:

This is it...

Thanks again, Minnie...! :)

Sympathy like.
Glad the strep test came back negative, and no new allergies.
Hope he gets well soon...!
