Merry Christmas Everyone. Envious of you all that are experiencing warmth but we are all where we are hopefully enjoying our Christmas.

I'm going to 8 AM Christmas Mass this morning. When I come home, hubs and I (and Jack . . .) will open gifts. I bought Jack a ridiculous-looking, purple monster chew toy. Supposedly, it's made extra tough so he'll have a struggle to destroy it--nothing Jack likes better than carnage. (If this one lasts an hour, I'll be surprised. )

At 10:00 AM, there is a Disney special, so I might tune that in.

Finally decided yesterday at the supermarket, what to make for dinner today (that would only take minimal effort). Got a roast beef (just throw in oven), bought pre-cooked sides of mashed potatoes and mashed squash (just heat up both), and I'll make an easy green bean casserole (5 minutes prep--throw in oven). Bought a can of gravy (I can nuke that). My sister's bringing crackers and cheese for ahead of time, and I also have (plain) egg nog before dinner as well (traditional). I bought a bottle of nonalcoholic sparkling cider for dinner. For dessert -- bought a Christmas cake and vanilla frozen yogurt. (Oh, I have plenty of Starbucks dark roast coffee available, too! :hungry: )

(I'll bet that Emeril, the famous chef, would be jealous of my cooking skills.) :D

Just love your method of celebrating. Good food, simple food, relax. Enjoy.

Dear Lord! No pun intended. Midnight Mass and home after 2am. Wonder if anyone fell asleep?

I've got the quarters as well. Why? I don't know. There worth a quarter and probably always will be, but, it was fun collecting them. They are in the blue coin holder book specifically for that purpose. I had around 7 actual, real, big and hefty silver dollars. By some strange coincidence I had, in that group, 3 from 1974 and 1 from 1976. I gave one each of the 1974's to my grandkids whose mother happened to be born in 1974. The 1976 on to the one whose mother was born in, can you guess,... 1976. The other three are random dates and I don't know why I keep them. I also have a few random coins from my trip to Europe in 1967 (some from Portugal, Spain, Italy, France and England) pre-Euro's. I have a few from my R&R in Japan in 1970. Those are because it is amazing that I still had some left over that I didn't spend while there.

I have some of Gran's Silver Dollars from the late 1800's when the coins were actually silver. I have Kennedy dollars too and many inbetween. Yeah they are worth far more than face value. Actually if I turned 3 or 4 of them in I might be able to buy a one day ticket into the Magic Kingdom. Likely the silver ones are worth more at times given the market to be melted down and sold as silver scrap.

We would NEVER go to WDW during Christmas. Too crowded. But it is nice being south. It's not crowded here.

It is crazy at Disney During this entire week but done right it is kinda magical. You just can't wing it, it is a vacation with a master plan, well researched. Actually today from what I've seen they were not hitting capacities. No matter what the spins as of late, attendance appears to be down, somewhat.

I noticed they weren't at capacity today. Odd.

Actually, with our current passes, this week isn't even an option. It's blacked out for both world and land.

I got to see the castle with the ice a few years ago when we went the week aftter New Year's. Castle was gorgeous, and the crowds were down. Win-win.

Yes. And Disney holiday's and events are starting earlier and earlier and leaving as long as they can be drawn out for now.
