I'm right there with you. I had to go to a store near Pet Smart and they were having an adoption day and the boys wanted to go in and look for a new pet. I couldn't bring myself to even go in the store and look at the fish. Maybe by spring. The bo:eek:ys want a ferret

{{{HUGS}}} to you too. I can't go into or around Pet Smart. I still have issues passing the Pup aisle at Target.

And No.

Oy. I had this discussion with my Mom this week, again. *pounds head* She was never good at cooking and at her age it has gotten kinda disgusting. We moved onto to ordering which we all love but my Sis and family will be in this year which seems to have sparked that cooking thing....she makes me tired.
I decided to take time out, for fun on here. Love all the funny pics. I see a light at the end of the tunnel and I'm feeling very good about that. Sorry about your Mom, we always went out for Thanksgiving. We don't do that anymore. Christmas was a snack day. Cookies, (not as many as @figmentfan423 ) lol. Different meatballs, in two or three crock pots. I made sweet and sour meatballs with peppers and pineapple. Boar's head black forest ham sandwiches on rolls. Cheese platter, with several kinds of olives. A pecan and olive spread. No major cooking. SIL loves my baked beans, mac and cheese, deviled eggs, cookies, a fudgie dessert. I'm making that, plus my sweet and sour meatballs, the boy's love those. Finally for the daughter chocolate less cookies. Think of a chocolate chip batter without the chips. She can't have chocolate.

I want to purchase property in Florida at some point. Though overall rare, sinkholes are scary. We experienced a sinkhole 200 yards from our home. It wasn't natural, a road construction error, they didn't backfill under the road where they dug out for new sewers. Still as my DH drove over the road and it collapsed into a sinkhole a split second after..unnerving.
I'm glad he made over this okay. They seem to be opening more and more. Florida has over 4,000 of them. I learned this on the weather channel.

Thank you. I'm having guests both Saturday and Sunday, so many will be eaten and some will go out in goody bags then and my dh always takes a platter in the first day after Christmas. I'm sure the bottomless pits and their friends will also consume more than their fair share.
This is a wonderful act for the Christmas season. I hope people remember you as well.

In really busy delivery times (such as Christmas season), UPS hires extra people (not their usual staff) to cover the overload of deliveries. Some of these people are not as professional; and every year you always see the TV news stories about a driver throwing boxes on a lawn instead of taking to the front door, etc. That's another reason why (when possible), I try to send packages very early in December to out-of-state gift recipients.
Our mail person has done that in the past, all cards left on the top of the boxes for anyone to take. We found some down the street and one card took 5 years to deliver.

I haven't a clue what dinner I'm making for Christmas. This past month has been a whirlwind at work and I haven't been able to focus on anything--just exhausted. I'll go to the grocery store on Saturday and buy something or other--I'll have to figure it out then. Luckily, it's only hubs and my sister, so no huge deal, but I'm burnt out and haven't had much time to enjoy the Christmas season this year.
I'm so sorry, I hope you get to enjoy the New Year. I start cooking for real Friday. I may sample some of the eats along the way....think of a fudgie dessert.
