Thank you. I really miss Walt. I will have another Pup, likely next new year sometime. Things are just bejambled and I need to let him rest in peace and move onto yet another love, just not quite there yet. I'm not ready to give up on the loss vs new love concept, I have loved all my Pups over the years. Another is a destiny.

You'll know when you're ready. And the new pup will find you--that's just how it goes. Sympathy hug for your major loss this year. Hang in there.

I met the UPS driver by accident today outside my DD apartment. She had put a post-it on the secondary locked door to the apartments that the doorbell was outside. They never rang the doorbell from heck that scares her anytime it pressed yesterday and then UPS left a forwarding email that her package from Disney would be left at some very creepity Liquor store in an unincorporated area after nightfall. Wrong. Disney shipping is expensive and should not involve picking up a package yourself elsewhere.

The UPS guy was actually very nice. He asked if the note was up yesterday and I said no it was a response to the ordeal she went through yesterday with UPS Chat online, 5 pages. He stated he tried to deliver to the business downstairs but they refused, rightfully. The door to the apts. above was locked as always is. So he left a non deliverable note on door downstairs. I took the nice gentleman outside the main entrance door. I pointed out to him the very large antique, loud door bells from H*ll that clearly indicated Apartment A B C D right beside the door handle. He hung his head and said he was so sorry. He clearly looked right past them yesterday given the business appearance of the building vs residential. My point was more for future deliveries this week. If it is by chance the same dude at least he gets it now. Still doesn't excuse the stupidity of the online Chat person UPS had handling the misdelivery yesterday. Useless.

In really busy delivery times (such as Christmas season), UPS hires extra people (not their usual staff) to cover the overload of deliveries. Some of these people are not as professional; and every year you always see the TV news stories about a driver throwing boxes on a lawn instead of taking to the front door, etc. That's another reason why (when possible), I try to send packages very early in December to out-of-state gift recipients.

I make something similar on Christmas Eve but Italian style with tomatoes.

I haven't a clue what dinner I'm making for Christmas. This past month has been a whirlwind at work and I haven't been able to focus on anything--just exhausted. I'll go to the grocery store on Saturday and buy something or other--I'll have to figure it out then. Luckily, it's only hubs and my sister, so no huge deal, but I'm burnt out and haven't had much time to enjoy the Christmas season this year.

I don't know if you've heard of these new fangled things call restaurants or not. With everything going on why not take them out for a nice dinner and come back to your home and have a nice tray of store bought cookies ready.

Mr Ferret 75

Or just pop over to @figmentfan423 's house . She has space ;)

edit ; as long as you take the cold with you when you leave

Thanks--not a bad idea. But we went out for Thanksgiving, and Christmas is really a day I like to stay at home, sitting near the Christmas tree, opening presents, listening to Christmas music, etc. I think I'll end up cooking something simple, buy a dessert, and have some munchies out ahead of time like nuts, and cheese and crackers. That's about all I can pull off this time.

That's even a better idea--she cooks for an army to begin with. Or another thought: Figgy, can you put a bunch of dinner selections and cookies in containers, and ship them up Fedex to me? That would solve my Christmas dinner dilemma!! Mr. Ferret is a genius!!! :D

I think if will be only the 4 of you that's a great idea. Bagged salad(fancy type with dressing included), shrimp cocktail(very easy with pre cooked shrimp, just arrange in martini glasses with cocktail sauce and lemon 1/6ths, fancy in only minutes), steak(bacon wrapped filet is quick) with roast veggies is pretty quick with minor prep work

Only three of us (unless you're counting the dog!!). You have some good suggestions, but I don't have martini glasses--would Disney mugs do in a pinch? :hilarious:
