You never had fun making snow angels? Or sledding? Or skiing? Or shoveling snow? Or having snowball fights with your pals in the backyard? You poor guy--missed out on all the fun. C'mon back up North and join in all the fun activities you missed as a kid! It could be your second childhood!

Of course there was some fun. But far outweighed by the ick LOL. Especially as I got older.

I started moving closer and closer to the shore, got a job where I work a lot of evenings so I could go to the beach in the morning before work.

With all that, I realized the best I could do was maybe two solid months or a hair more. Then it would start getting cold again. I started dreading September.

I'm glad I grew up where I did, and I'm glad I left when I did! For me, there is an immeasurable benefit of markedly warmer weather throughout the year.

Coronado is nice and not as yuuge as some people say. POR has the water taxi that runs to downtown Disney so that puts it above the Mehico resort for us.
Really cant go wrong cause your at Disney .

Yep, we absolutely loved POR the 2 times we stayed there back in '01 and '04. Along with everything else, gotta' love that boat ride to DTD ;) and back...! :)

I remember seeing called Stabilicers at a few sporting goods places. That may be a good places to start. I'm not sure if I saw them at Cabella's or Gander Mountain. Me I stay inside when it's icy.

Here you go -- some different styles of Stabilicers at L L Bean -- (depending upon conditions in winter, I've used them--I have two different kinds for different conditions): Also a note of caution: do NOT ever wear these indoors on a floor--you will slide!! They're for outdoor gripping only.

Thanks ladies!

The excuses would make me more upset, too!! Especially if you KNOW he just forgot. My dad has never been very big on birthdays so it doesn't really bother me that he forgets because I don't EXPECT him to remember...that's just my dad. But my brother is a different story. When I first moved here, my mom had just died a few months prior and her wish was that neither of her kids be alone on Christmas that first year. Because I moved away, I felt responsible for that, so I bought my brother a plane ticket to come here for Christmas. He blew off my birthday that year and I was really hurt by it. When he got here, my MIL mentioned to him that he might want to wish me a belated birthday as I had been hurt that he hadn't remembered...he still never did, even after she mentioned it. ( I was in the bathroom when she mentioned it. I lived with my in-laws at the time, so when he visited, he stayed at their house. Which, he brought no gift or card for them to thank them for letting him stay in their home for 2 weeks and then told them the reason he had nothing was because we refused to take him to a flower shop on the way....he had never ASKED...in fact we passed several flower shops in the airport and he commented on how cheap flowers were here...he couldn't believe it! If only he had someone to buy flowers for. :/ ) Then he told everyone back home that he was honoring my mom's wish, because I moved away, so everyone thought he was just this great guy to come all the way to the Netherlands to make sure my mom's last wish was honored even though I had abandoned him. No one knew that we paid for the trip and he stayed with us so he had ZERO expenses and he didn't even say Thank you. I SHOULDN'T be so upset..I know how he is, but it still hurts. I'm sorry your husband's sister is unkind, too. It has so much more gravity when it's family, doesn't it?

Your brother sounds like a piece of work, but its your brother so you have to love him. That's the family rule I guess. But sometimes we don't have to like them right! ;)

O.k. So I've offered two cakes in the past half hour. Anyone else need a cake today? :hilarious:
I would like to have someone to cook for me, for a couple days. Between my hip injury, it's hard to move and get around. I was in so much pain last night, I could only sleep 4 hours. Didn't get to sleep until 1:30 A.M. And woke up at 5:30 A.M. this morning. I've been rocking in my chair to ease the pain. Everyone should have a nice padded rocking chair. It really did help!

It didn't bother me at all the when I turned 40... that same 28 years ago. Just so you know, mentally you never do feel any different and you aren't old enough yet for your body to attempt to correct you. It will some day, but, you will have to fight your brain over it. The brain is a mule and doesn't let go easy.
Yup, you want to go on forever.....why weren't we born much later, when we can get artificial parts?;););)
