So . . . I recently was informed that there will be some possible changes ahead in my (work) division. A high level executive is leaving in a few months and some (or all) of us, may or may not have jobs in the next half year or so. It just depends upon who comes in, and what that person's vision is for the department. Why does this carp always have to go down before the holidays when people are supposed to be happy?

So I'm just hanging in there for now, with the full support of all my supervisors who will advocate to find me something else, if the worst goes down, in the future. I may be doing this in due course:

Updating my resume:

And I'll note that I'm a "team player" --

And that I;m very reliable, and show up for work on time, because I have transportation --

greetings from Playa del Carmen (near cancun)

Jealous! But have fun.

so so for now.
wass unlucky to select a restaurant with very overpriced food with mediocre quality . only good food was y sister's and brother's dishes.. my mother said her tacos were terrible so did my burger and my "traditional cesar salad" (which clearly had cheap walmart croutons and bottled sauce..

tomorrow going to xelha.. will take tons of photos! love that park.. I hope the still maintain it n good shape, its gorgeous last time I was there.

Sorry about the food. Xelha should be fun, I went to its sister park Xcaret a few years ago and had a great time.

I'll just be 86.... I'll wait! No problem! :hungover:
Turns out, I didn't have any choice. I wasn't born yet when the last one happened and last night was completely overcast here so if it happened I'll have to take everyones word for it. So onward to 2034 and @betty rose you and your hubby are welcome to join me. We can park our scooters side by side. :joyfull:

Yeah it does. The closest we have is Uverse which at point does deliver fiber to neighborhoods but then delivery to end users is the hard copper lines via the phone lines so it starts out real good in theory but crashes down in the final delivery to the homes. Our speed is better than anything else available but is bluck to what is really available.
it depends on the distance, if you;re lucky, you can get up to 200mbps on a single copper pair using VDSL2+on short distances.
Im waiting for that service to finally be installed near my home.
The cable service is going downhill since that stupid multinational bought it.

Yeah, all the internet providers are now in fine print saying speed UP TO......never seen it reach that bar though.

We have seen the same kinda thing happen here with buyouts on so many different platforms. Our railroad system is totally messed up now since it was purchased last decade by Canadian Pacific. From Metra to Amtrak nothing can keep a schedule anymore. Add that to the stupid things our government rubberstamped the sale of. Worst one I saw was when the former mayor of Chicago just before leaving office sold the rights to Chicago Parking Meters to a private firm for about one years worth of revenue. :cyclops: Ya wonder and just wonder some more.
