Out for me. Everyone have a great evening. I'm going to watch a kids movie.....Monster's University, I just love this movie. We had a broken tile between the kitchen and living room. Hubby fixed it today. No walking into the kitchen. That mean" s no cooking for me this evening. I want Chinese. Yummy!

So sorry about the food poisoning, hubby got food poisoning eating at his boss's house, on scallops. Under cooked, so did all the other people invited for the meal. That was one time, that wives weren't invited , and I was so glad. My Doctor said to have Elderberry Wine, to drink for food poisoning. It worked for hubby. We keep a bottle around, just in case.

Elderberry wine for food poisoning relief? That's something I never heard of (actually, I've never heard of elderberry wine either). This "remedy" is fascinating. How much did Mr. Bets have to drink to feel better?

Me too! I want the season to be happy, and joyous! No downer movies for me. Hubby watch's every year. I watch Christmas in Conneticut. I love Barbara Stanwyck. sp..... My spelling skills are fading. I was the best speller in grade school. No more.....
Well, of course, that would be impossible cause you're no longer in grade school. You would be to old to not look silly in a spelling bee!

Your welcome. I grew up around there when there was nothing but fields. My Dad was actually one of the Kazillion contractors that helped build Woodfield years ago. I was able to walk through the mall before it opened. Now the area can be as challenging to drive through as parts of DT Chicago.

And now I want to go to Wildberries. :hungry:

Ha ha ha!! I love how Belle is the instigator and Ranger follows the lead!! :hilarious: :hilarious: I can't even imagine the chaos with two dogs. We have one and he's a handful, as you know. ;)

(When hubs was in his late teens, he moved away from home and roomed with 5 other guys in a house. They had 4 dogs--a Great Pyrenees, two German Shepherds, and an Irish Setter. He said those dogs were always playing and running around the house after one another. Add to that, 5 single guys, parties, etc., and it was truly Animal House!! :p Thank goodness I didn't meet him until many years beyond that "stage" of his life!!) :D

Oh my! That's a lot of pups between 5 young dudes...! :cyclops:

We've had as many as 3 at one time twice before, and it could definitely get a bit nutty 'round here...!!!
And they were all large dogs...
PJ, Molly, and Pepper; Yellow Lab, Yellow Lab and Golden mix, and Short-haired Collie, respectively.
Abby, Tucker, and Bo; AKC registered Black Labs, and German Shepherd, respectively.
Nutty, indeed, but, so many wonderful memories...!!! :)

What is it about McMansions??!! I've also seen areas (not as overall rural as yours) where there might be the only farmland left in a location--and a developer comes in and demolishes the house, barn, etc., and builds these huge, ostentatious "houses"--that have no character or charm like the older, farm houses. Can't stand it. (I'm not so much against McMansions if they're in an area designated for that type of housing. My complaint is when they eliminate lovely countryside scenery, and plunk one of these houses in the middle of it.) End of rant.

We have had a McMansion ordinance within the Austin city limits for many years now.
People were buying lots with modest old homes on them, razing them, and then building all new 2 and 3-story monsters that went from setback/easement to setback easement on all 4 sides of the lot. Just sick carp. :depressed:
We now have floor-to-area ratio limits, impervious coverage limits, building height envelopes, etc., etc., etc.
And, of course, you hafta' keep up with it all on a regular basis, as folks will find little loopholes to sneak stuff by, and the ordinance is again amended. It's crazy as heck to keep up with, but, I'm mostly for it, as some of the crap that was being built years ago in these areas was just that...large, giant C. R. A. P.

There is a website out there called "McMansion Hell". Google it or just "McMansion Hell Images". Most of the stuff on there will just blow your mind. It's pretty sick.
Again, everything our firm turns out isn't perfect, and, we have had some client-driven "fun" out there over the years, but, darn there is some really bad stuff out there McMansionwise.

Just as an example check out these 2 (no, not in Austin ;)) beauties...!

Excuse me for a moment...I hafta' hurl... :in pain: :hungover: :depressed:

And, unfortunately, that's just the tip of the McMansionberg... :cyclops:

argh, I get tht a lot, but via phone..
no seriously.. 2 months ago I was getting near 15 calls A DAY from 3 different banks, all pushing loans, ccs and other stuff.
I keep telling them im not interested but they insisted. so I put my cell phone in autoblock. They got the hint I guess
I hardly get 1 call a week now.

Annoying. I don't answer my phone(s) unless I know who it is. I let it go to voice mail and usually no message is left. Solved the problem. I equally hate solicitors that come to my door. I have a small sign under my doorbell.

They sadly dont sell these here as far I know. Might be useful!

I pick and choose between how I am going to spend my time with the things I can omit from actually HAVING to do. Learned years ago I only have small blobs of time so things over the years I just stopped doing. As I aged my veggie garden was cut down by 2/3, so much upkeep and watering. I love gardening but I got smarter about what I plant and how much water they need. The biggest thing I omitted was mass mailings of Christmas cards. With all I have going during the holidays it became a burden and it became expensive. Now I send out only about 25% of what I use to. Compost just was never an added to the list.
