The puppy (about 6 months out) cried and howled when hubby took our dog out to the car. For whatever reason I think someone fell in love today! :inlove: It should be interesting when he comes on Friday until the 21st.

Hubby and I were just talking about Woodfield Mall today. We are thinking of staying a night around the Mall before we go to his sisters and then maybe spending a night downtown after we've paid our penance with his family. So I was looking at hotels for both. There was a decent deal for the Palmer House, we really like hotel downtown so I snagged that reservation. I love its design inside and location isn't too bad. I like that it is close to Macy's and the Berghoff!

Anything along Michigan Avenue to Mag Mile in Lincoln Park isn't bad. From the train to Lincoln Park it was a $12 Uber ride.

Was just watching the menus of that restaurant you mentioned.
While I know the prices arent that big for a steakhouse. Still hurt a lot factoring the exchange rate of my country's currency D:
Still, the menu looks wow.. Id totally order the surf and turf and perhaps the lamb chops oreganato.

Yes, it is a very good steak house. I have had the surf & turf but not on Thanksgiving since the sides have so many extraordinary things to offer. I only eat in moderation so even when I am stuffing myself in moderation there is only so much I can cram in the tummy.

I looked into the Hampton but the price is better for the DoubleTree. Maybe since it is the same parent company they will use the same pillows.

I'm thinking there are only a few parent companies of hotels left. Marriott just gobbled up a fleet again this past month.

Anywho...are you talking the Doubletree on National Parkway? It is only about a 5 minute drive to Woodfield if that is the one. It is one of the older hotels in that area but from outside seems to be well maintained. It sits in a corporate business area vs the retail area but still very close, I pass it when I've gone to the Department of Motor Vehicles-Illinois which is down at the end of the street.

I only mentioned the Hampton Inn since it sits on the outer edge of the property of Woodfield and is now just opening so it is brand spank'n new. There are a plethora of these value/free breakfast places around Woodfield as the Schaumburg convention center is just down the road.

But, what problem would come from that unless you are planning to eat the shell too?

I was thinking that "if" an egg broke or cracked in the container, there "might" be salmonella germs in the container. If the containers are cleaned upon return, I assume that would take care of the problem. Of maybe they might even throw out those containers and just clean the ones that did not show any seepage of previous eggs.

You are very fortunate that you know how to sew so well. I can do basic lines but clothing really intimidates me. Do you ever sell what you make or do any alterations? One of our teacher's (now retired) wife ran an alteration shop and he often talked about how he helped her. She had a very steady and profitable business. If I knew how to sew well I would do that on the side for extra Disney money. Do your boys know how to sew?

On Friday some of my Freshmen boys were talking about their second semester schedule and one of the boys said that he was in fashion. One of the other boys started to razz his friend about it. Since they were talking right next to me I stepped in and told them it was really a smart idea to take fashion and learn how to sew well and that it could make an awesome business or side business in the future. I said that people always need things altered or made and people who know how to sew can charge a great rate for that. The boys then stopped razzing the other kid and started talking about how well each other can sew. It was like it was a competition. They are just so weird, when fashion/sewing turning into a source of money for them then they didn't think it was dumb. Sorry for the long side story.

I think that's fascinating how the conversation turned around, once you told them about the earnings potential. I just had a pair of wool lined pants shortened at the tailor, and it was $20. While I was in the shop, I could see that he had racks of clothing that people had dropped off. I think my tailor does very well for himself.

Depends on if you have mastered egg cracking. I have not. About half the time I have egg running down the side of the outer egg shell.
There are two things when I'm cooking that I am incredibly careful with, eggs and raw chicken.

My MIL has always reused things I'd never cause I couldn't be comfy with the idea I could get clean. She washes zip lock baggies, packs lunches in bread bags she has washed, washes some tin foil, washes plastic silverware, tin pans and the list goes on and on.

Has anybody checked out in line and you feel like just sying stop asking me questions to the cashier. Yes, I know it's there job. I worked at Walgreens, we were forced to upsell the candy or small trinket that was on the counter. But it's like enough is enough. I bought a tv because mine bite the dust.

Is that all today?
Do you want a warranty?
Do you want to donate to St. Jude's (Feels like a bad person by saying not today when you are buying a TV)

Only a couple questions but please cash me out and get me the hell away from here.

You forgot two more:

"Do you have a charge account with us?" (Me: No.)
"Well if you open an account you can save an additional 15% today " (Me: No, I really DO NOT want one.)

"At the end of the receipt, you'll see a link to an online survey, and you can share your shopping experience with us today." (Me: No. Bye)

Congrats. I wish I could justify but clothes but seeing I just got a serger running, bought some fabric and I going to the pattern blow out sale, clothes shopping isn't going to happen any tie soon.:( Boots may be another story maybe I could sneak a pair into the house:D

Me, I did not justify a great deal for myself when my kids were in college. I'm still not a big clothing buyer, more if I really need it kinda person. I tend to live in my blue jeans/shorts kinda gal. But when I see something I really like now that isn't crazy expensive ($30) for Disneyware, I will treat myself.

A lot of that is smart and resourceful. But I think the main thing here is, what was in the box or bag prior to it being reused again. That would steer my decision to save and clean, or to just throw it out.

I'll do alterations but don't sell clothing. Most of what I've sold at craft fairs has been items I've painted mostly Christmas ornaments. My sewing is more for the love of it and not being able to find clothing in the stores that fits me. Well that and my need of quilts to keep me warm

One of our local cleaners has an ad running right now that they have 25% off all terations. I have no clue what a teration is, or how many kinds there are, but, does that sound like a good deal to y'all...?! o_O

:D ;)

Yep, I have taken bread to the office in a ziplock bag before. Still had lunch meat in the fridge, but, no bread. Always save and reuse those, as there was just bread in them. :)

Jack just bolted up the stairs and ran to me with his tail wagging. Then he immediately ran downstairs. Why? Because hubs just brought him inside after an hour-long walk and run. Jack likes to extend the experience and always runs up here to me when he comes home--and then runs downstairs until he practically hits the wall, because he wants to keep running. Takes him a while to realize that the experience is over for the day.

Oy. I so agree. It seems when they come to their credit/debit cards some cashiers just do not let up. I just keep repeating No thank you.

At BOA I had a branch manager insert herself into my banking with a teller. Wanted to upgrade my credit card and she wasn't getting anywhere with me....finally she says in a pretty belligerent demeaning way...so you have no interest in saving money or free cash? Me, Excuse me, that was an uncalled, editorial comment and I do not like be harassed as I bank. May I have your business card please?
Deer in headlight turn around attitude. Too late Missy. BOA should take a lesson from Wells and the trouble they got themselves into with sales tactics to employees performance reviews.

Ha!!! LOVE your response to the branch manager!!! I had a similar experience at Kohls one day--a very young floor manager was behind the cash register clerk, (the clerk was asking me the usual questions). When I said I still didn't want the store credit card (even with the 15% discount), the young floor manager CHALLENGED me to answer her -- she said, "WHY don't you want 15% extra off your purchase?" I told her, "One more question from you and I'm walking out of this store now." She shut up.

That's just his post "workout" cool-down routine...!!! :hilarious: ;) :)
