I agree it was fun as a kid to have the excitement of Christmas after Thanksgiving. Now as an adult I like to get my shopping out of the way so I can enjoy the season and not have stress over my most favorite time of year. Since we are going to Disney over the time I would normally decorate for Christmas I have to decide if I should decorate early or after. I think I will be starting my Christmas decorating soon, then when I come home from the "christmas at Disney" I can relax into Christmas at home too.

When we would go to Disney over Winter break for about 17 days we would not really decorate for Christmas. The family tree didn't go up at all. The kids trees in their rooms would. Maybe a wreath on the door and the mega 6 foot advent calendar and done. Santa would come as usual while we were gone to Disney and the kids found their presents under the trees in their rooms. Santa also forwarded a few special things to the resort for Christmas morning.

I remember your thread about him. He held a very special place in your heart, and yours in his. Here's something to provide some moments of comfort:

Thank you so very much for that, Minnie!!! You are so sweet...!!!

Again, a bit misty...

The only worry is, I know he's there, I'm just not so sure about myself gettin' there...

When we drove from Ind. to Florida, that was always my favorite place to have the free orange juice. I also loved the shops with the touristy stuff. The only thing I bought, was a big conch shell. But it was fun looking through all the merchandise.

Yep, a frequent stop for us....

My Dad would always stop and buy juice, bag of oranges and about a dozen push orange straws.

We'd sip on these until the oranges collapsed or our mouths and cheeks were sore.

Littleton. The goat credited with breaking the curse. Littleton, Descendant of the Original Billy Goat & curse visited both Wrigley Field and as seen on the Quad of the University of Illinois. Though he has lived on campus in an apartment, his other home is in Door County Wisconsin. The goat owner is the grandson of the owner of the original Billy Goat (curse).

You were supposed to put the answers in a SPOILER in case others wanted to try take a guess without help.

sorry, lack fo sleep does that to you.

not a good day so far..
Row of windows 10 crashes, windows corruption, restoring it.. then my thunderbird main account collapsed and lost tons of emails. good thing it was a gmail linked account. sO I could recover most from the "allemails" feature of google.
not fun at all.
After all the stress to fix a server (for 2 weeks) and finally fixing it 3 days ago..yeah, its been insane x_X

Btw, wish me luck.. TOEFL exam tomorrow very early (who the hell gives an important exam THIS EARLY? 7:00 am)

You obviously just don't get it or are not a sports fan. And your post is coming across like Mr. ajrwdwgirl acted like a fool. Not cool dude.
I think it depends on what kind of actions constitute "fool" behavior.
Example.. fans who riot when their team loses or wins (and destroy property..etc..).. now thats frigging stupid! :banghead:

I would have been knocked into tomorrowland. I would not have dared. Still to this day do not go down that road.

Never been a fan of gutter talk or trying to intimidate by going off topic to icky, harsh talk. Just never found that road leads to any respect, more the opposite. Still some will never grasp that, likely never will.

Yep, "back in the day" ;) we would have ended up dog food "biproduct"...!!!!! :D ;)

That's OK, it was always 'our' National Pastime not the Worlds. Me, I could never wrap my brain around Soccer-Futbol  Can't say I've ever watch a USA Championship Soccer Tournament. :bored:

Considering how bad the MLS is.. I dont disagree with you on that aspect.
Mexico's soccer is going downhill lately too.
Seems all the good soccer is in europe, particularly England, Spain and Germany.

And after watching those teams play.. and then you watch other teams from elsewhere.. you can even notice how the guys in the other teams barely can control the ball lol.

I was impressed with how well everything went in the wee hours of the morning. Wrigleyville is an awesome area filled with all sorts of Sports Bars and restaurants. Everyone was pretty joyful and happy.

On the flipside I can remember in a different area of Chicago when the Bulls won a few times cars being turned over and a lot of vandalism. Just don't understand some humans. Just glad this event went pretty nicely.

I watch mostly the Premier League (England) and the Bungeslia (Germany). I watched a few minutes of MLS. There is no match. Also, the rest of the Americas are better than us too.

:depressed: Too early . . . and not that anyone cares, but I'll share this anyway. When I was growing up, we used to love watching TV on Thanksgiving (after the big meal), and getting excited by all the brand new Christmas commercials. They would debut on Thanksgiving. Then, the day after, (Friday) we'd go into the city's big downtown shopping area with all the departments stores, and gaze at all the beautifully decorated Christmas windows. I have such happy memories.

Now, they push holiday commercials much sooner, and most of them aren't nearly as pleasant as before. And, just today, someone told me that Kohls was having some sort of pre-Black Friday sale thing today (something like 64 pages of stuff online). Jeepers, it's only November 3rd. Now, don't get me wrong, I don't mind picking up presents for people during the year if I just happen to see something nice. I don't do all my shopping around Thanksgiving, by any means. But I just kinda miss the older traditions. And hot chocolate . . . and candy canes.
My dh came home with nog yesterday. Up until very recently I don't remember seeing it until right before Thanksgiving but it seems it's out the day after Halloween. cue Tradition(Fiddler on the Roof) At least he got vegan nog:D

That's the only way I'd decorate before Thanksgiving. We usually decorate over the Thanksgiving weekend, but I'm not sure the boys will be here so if they're not here I'll do everything but the tree. The tree has been a guy's project for a while.
