But considering the last time that the Cubs won a World Series was in 1908, that's a reason to get excited. That was before my Orioles were even in Baltimore. Or my grandparents were born. Or my great grandparents were born.

If you read it that sentence followed the previous one about my SIL. So if anyone thinks that getting thrown out of a kids ballgame, embarrassing himself and his kid, who also had to be removed from the game because of his fathers outburst as not being foolish over sports, then guilty as charged and if that means I'm not cool... I'm quite OK with that.
