LOVE IT!!! What a fun group! :)

(At the hospital where I work, some of the pediatric patients get dressed up in Halloween costumes, and the staff wheels them around in wheelchairs, down the elevators to the first level. People passing by them put treats in their bags. The little kids only stay for about 10 minutes, as they're not well. Then they get wheeled back up to their patient rooms. But they get all excited during this brief time, because they still get to trick or treat, even while in a hospital.)
That's nice. Our local nursing home does T or T on the Wednesday before Halloween. They put the patients in their doorways to pass out candy. If they are bedridden their bed is moved so they can see through the doorway and a family member gives out candy. Between all the grandchildren, employees kids, and neighborhood kids they average about 100 getting stuff from 48 doorways. They also have cider, punch and donuts in the diningroom.

To me it wasn't seeing all the kids excited about candy but the fun the patients were having, especially since some of them don't have anyone that visit them. Our local grocery also donates the candy for those patients who don't have anyone to buy it for them.

After the sticker shock of finding out what out cable bill will be next year we are getting rid of it. My dh is picking up an antenna for our local stations and getting a roku box because not all of out tvs are smart. The cost of both hulu and netflix are way, way, way cheaper than cable. We already have netflix and are doing a free trial for hulu and may keep both depending on how much we use hulu. We also agree with @StarWarsGirl Amazon Pime<Netflix. I hope this all works out
I hear ya. I've had the same thought for whenever I move out to just get Netflix, Hulu, and maybe CBS all access because I watch a LOT of CBS shows. Although I would just invest in WiFi enabled Blue Ray players. They aren't horribly expensive anymore.

Not a fan of slashers here as well. I prefer slow build ups myself

But then, I like most of these who deal with imaginary build ups. (aka alien movies, paranormal..etc..)
Not a slasher person either. I love a good spooky trippy movie. I will not ever never ever watch Poltergeist......ever.....never ever! I think I told this story before but when my daughter, who was just past two and not speaking well was sleeping with me once......and in the middle of the night the tv popped on by itself to a channel of pure static. :jawdrop: My daughter sat straight up and said crystal clear "They're heeeeeeeere!":bawling::bawling::eek: (Just like that movie.)

Then she laid right back down asleep and I grabbed the remote, turned the tv off shaking and crying, and kept staring at the tv and my daughter the rest of the night. She's never seen that movie and was still babbling most of the time so I was freaked. I slept with the lights on for a week. :arghh:

@donaldtoo it is pretty cool that your office dresses up for Halloween. I'm not much into costumes but it is nice to see other dress up. I did wear my Halloween Minnie Mouse ears today and a Disney Halloween shirt to school. The kids gave me a lot of compliments on my ears. One kid said, "I just knew you would be Minnie today!"
Awww, that's great that the kids appreciated your Minnie!

Thanks! The foot is feeling a little better. I wrapped it like the doctor said for a couple days and it hurt worse than it did unwrapped. So I have kept it unwrapped and work flat shoes (without an arch) and the foot is feeling better.

The cruise is the day after Thanksgiving, I'm really looking forward to it.
What a nice way to start the lead up to Christmas!

Good morning, everyone. What happened to Halloween. We had such nice weather, we thought we would have a lot of kids. We only had about 35. But two little guys were so cute, when hubby told them to pick out a couple bags of chips, that they would like. They said to hubby, "thank you, Mr. Grandpa". Made me chuckle, I love that they were about 5 years old.

We locked in for two years, to save on cost. But, we will probably give it up, too. It's crazy to pay these prices, to watch, nothing but re runs.

A rood one and I'm not installing it LOL. So far the boys like hulu because it has most of what they watch if all goes well we'll upgrade to the no commercial package. That and netflix comes to about 1/10 of what the cable croks charge and we won't even lose any channels we watch
I didn't realize that Hulu has a no commercial option, now I'm switching for sure. I hate how commercials take up so much time. Now, I record what I want to watch, and zip through the commercials.
But, I'm finding that I'm getting really annoyed with T.V. why should I have to pay for cable, and commercials too? However, they can have a purpose when nature calls.;)

I had a similar experience when, I had this dream about being lifted out of bed, went through the window, with aliens on each side of me and into a space ship. Later that same night, the T.V. came on with static, and woke me up and I remembered my dream. Scared me to death, hubby was out of town on a business trip. DD was staying at a friends house for the night. I slept with my bedroom light on too. Shut it off, when hubby came home from his trip. Then, after I slept with the light on, whenever hubby was away at night. That was truly a frightening experience.
