In other news, my mother asks.. I mean.. DEMANDS all our family (brother, sister, me) go to vacations together. Since we haven't been out of home together in almost a decade.
So she's even says no excuses and that she will pay my part.. allright then. Now lets see if my work leaves me free time. as I have been out for vacations already(the cruise) on this year.. twice (the first being disney/universal)

We're probably going to Playa del Carmen (next to cancun, near the archeological section)

Well, as long as she is paying right?! :) I really like Playa Del Carmen, it has built up a little since I first went but 5th Ave is still a fun place to stroll through. And the places we've stayed had a nice beach, and I just love that turquoise water.

So I have one more week of work. At this time next week, I will have completed my hours for my internship. I will give them the evaluation form from school, and as soon as I get that back, I am giving my two weeks notice, only coming in on Fridays. And when I give my notice, I'm hoping they just tell me not to even come back. I'm pretty worn out from being sick (last night I went to bed before 10 pm and practically passed out). Have a feeling that will happen again tonight.

I picked up a few more hours tutoring, which is pretty good money, especially since the school doesn't withhold taxes for student employees. And it means I can just go to work and then drive up the hill to go to class. Instead of driving 40+ minutes to work plus another 30 to school.

In other news, I got a guitar. Our neighbors are moving to downsize, and they were just like, "Here, you want this?" And I'm not about to say no to a new instrument. I need to buy a guitar pick for it, and, ya know, teach myself to play, but before long, I should have at least a basic understanding of four instruments. :D

Especially if I no longer have to work Fridays and can put in more time practicing the guitar.

Pretty cool about the guitar. My husband taught himself to play ukulele and he is pretty good. But teaching himself wasn't super easy, so good luck! I wish I was more musically talented. :)

Thanks! It's not easy, that's for sure. I taught myself viola, but I already had a background with the violin, so it was simpler because the technique was the same, Hardest part was learning a new clef. Guitar will be familiar in that it's another stringed instrument. My violin tuner works with the guitar. It's actually easier to tune than violin/viola. It's even more forgiving than a violin/viola as with those instruments, you have to put your fingers in precisely the right place or else be out of tune, whereas you don't with guitar. But it has it's own challenges

Ukulele sounds interesting. We have a ukulele group at school. It's extremely popular.

Stressful evening , fire "contained", but still going. What ever that means. For hubby and me, breathing problems. Air conditioning soon to turn heat. What kind of crazy year are we having? We are so hot and dry, we are going to major draught. Just think, we had so much rain this spring, along with cool temps. I'm sick of this roller coaster. I hope I wake up to a better day. Rant over. I hope everyone is having fun watching the World Series. We keep having fire alerts. I'm going to look at the score, and the fun!

That's a great thing to do. I still love playing the piano. We bought an electronic kind, even though I learned on a baby grand (my parent's piano). It's so dry out here you would spend a fortune having a regular piano tuned, and eventually the sound board would crack, due to no humidity. ( Which is currently at 11 percent out here right now. ( my skin is scaring me, I look like an alligator, even though I just put on an expensive moisturizer. Learning to play is so much fun. Then listening to music, you play is fun too. That's a great gift, the guitar!

Definitively. the good thing is that almost all the zones are full of small boutique hotels.
My brother fell in love, its cheap.. great access to countless good cheap restaurants.. access to tour bases by walking and many other things.

Those huge swings from floods to droughts are definitively destructive. Hope the plants do not end being wiped and the whole place turned into a dust bowl D:

Hmmm....when I was much younger I was skiing down a run in CO and I got cut off by someone that had zero business being on a run of that difficulty. I swerved to avoid colliding and then there was this freak'n tree so I swerved again to go down a smaller hill that wound up not being a smaller side hill but a small cliff. Much different. And over I went. Messed up a knee a bit.

So if things are going to burn in CO, can that one single tree burn? :cyclops:

Actually there are some awesome YouTubes for learning guitar out there now. My DD also used YouTube whenever she got stuck on homework especially math and physics. Not much that isn't available out there. It is also an awesome tool for parents trying to help their kids with homework and need to brush up on all the cr*ap they learned in high school and forgot.

Sorry to hear about your daughter. I'm sure it is painful because of the break and no being able to trick or treat. :(

It is always worse when something special is coming up. My DD broke her foot multiple times through the years. The first time on the day before Christmas Eve, which of course was a Friday. I did get her into a podiatrist which was an evil person that at least casted her for the holidays.

In our area I learned after many ER visits not to go to ER rooms shy of a bone sticking out or something. 9/10 during the day I can get right into the Ortho office, they have their own Xray equipment and it is more one stop shopping and if they don't find a break they can do an MRI so they know what they are dealing with.

For whatever reason my kids were broken a great deal. I even had my son in Elementary school fall out of a old tree, 2 stories at a friends home. The mom from her kitchen window watch him fall to the ground. I'd likely have been investigated by DCFS if all these accidents didn't happen elsewhere. Only once did it happen at our house. The first time my DD tipped over walking down our front stairs to the bus stop and toppled sideways rolling her foot. Her backpack was 23 pounds. She weighed 45. (My first year on school board, I fixed that.)

I was in 5th grade when I got my first guitar. The hardest thing for me was my finger placement because my hands were tiny. Plus those blisters on little kid skin fingers. My DD got her first guitar when the ex-nun piano teacher made her hate the piano which she was good at. Guitar was the replacement. She picked up on it very quickly and was so good. Melted my heart to hear Green Day Good Riddance on 8th grade grad day. Both were in chorus.

I did anything to avoid school band.
