So my parents successfully got the Beach Club for next year with their DVC points. You make the reservation at your home resort (which is Old Key West) and then a couple months later, if room is free at the other resorts; you can switch. So yeahhh.

I know I said last year, it would be the last year I go to Disney with my parents but I always wanted to stay at the Yatch and Beach Club. And wouldn't be able to afford it otherwise. Plus the running around the Boardwalk is a plus.

But my sister and I might go a couple days before Thanksgiving (coming home Thanksgiving morning). Most likely not going to the parks. $120 is not worth it.

@Cesar R M I enjoyed your latest trip update however it really makes me look forward to Castaway Cay. I like having the beach day on the cruise and I am so glad that Castaway doesn't have the vendors. That is one thing I really don't like about the beach vacations we have taken is the vendors. I don't like the pushiness, calling out by them, or haggling for prices if I do want to buy something. I find all of that stressful. That is also a reason I don't want to get off in Nassau, I don't want to deal with any of that stuff.

Well, it's not exactly that you make the reservation at your home resort and then switch several months later. You can book your home resort 11 months out, but only 7 months for a non-home resort, subject to availability. So it's smart, if you wantto go to WDW, to book at your home resort first and then when the seven months hits, try for another resort if that's what you want. The points are also going to be higher at a non-home resort.

Anyway, BCV is very nice. All of the rooms just got rennovated and they're now some of the nicer DVC units. And the pool is definitely the best pool at WDW, second best Disney Resort pool (it was the best, but then Aulani opened...). And you can go to Epcot, drink, and not worry about having to navigate buses to your resort. It's one of our home resorts for a reason; it's really nice.

Unfortunately, not all do wine...
So that plan doesnt fit for me :(
We didn't do wine either, much too hot. We started today with heavy rain (this morning, after we got to Epcot), lasted on and off a couple hours. During that time we saw Soarin' Around the World, it was nice, but seemed shorter to me. We did space ship earth, with little crowds , we went standby. Then went to the DVC lounge , in the old horizons building. We got a free coke and went to use the computer, the battery was low, so we couldn't post anything. Back to the land, and the Show case was open. It was a zoo, wall to wall people, while waiting in line for the pork tenderloin, in the hot sun, I was about to pass out. We went on to Canada and the line was even longer there, again the hot sun. We passed it by, and went in to see the Canada movie. I love the music in that show. After that , it was mid day and the heat and crowd's were unbearable. We went out the gateway, and onto the boat to HS. We walked from the boat to the bus. Another sunny wait for the bus. Then we were off back to the resort. Stopped to eat at Artist pallet we got chicken nuggets and chips. Too hot to eat much. We took the internal bus to Congress Park. Back to the room to write a short note. WiFi was out this morning, so I couldn't post. Got a funny story about the bus service or lack of bus service from Disney Springs. We stood in line last night while a lot of buses passed us by. Many had no destination on them. After waiting about an hour a bus finally arrives at our stop. He let a lot of people off. When we went to get on the bus, he said" I'm a dropper offer, not a picker upper. Off he went to who knows where with an empty bus. After about 15 more minutes another bus stops, he was our picker upper. But he was only stopping at Congress Park in all of Saratoga.

@Cesar R M , your updated TR was a nice little escape for me, as usual. The scenery was so pretty. I don't know anything about cruise lines as I've never been on one, but I found it interesting that you would choose another cruise line over RCCL, due to the push by management for the casino and shopping crowd. That would get on my nerves, too. I know that a number of the Chit Chatters here have been on cruises, and they might have some good tips for future cruises for you.
I actually joined Cruise Critic to post my review and also to check other cruises..but for now.. everything will be pipe dream until I settle my debt. Hopefully It wont take more than january to pay most of it.

I think the mess is also related to the switch.
I remember reading that Disney stopped all the buses from the water parks. And now you have to either board one in Animal Kingdom OR at Disney springs for the other waterpark (I think it was blizz beach and typhoon lagoon respectively)
Also, why you dont purchase an umbrella to at least prevent the sun from hitting you straight on the head?
also a hat works.
Honestly. I never leave to any vacations without my Animal Kingdom Safari hat! Best purchase ever!

I feel bad that it is so hot for you. It was really hot for us too and I had some issues the first day with the heat, I had to sit in some AC for awhile and drink some water. Hopefully you can still enjoy some of the foods later.

As for the length of Soarin' I looked at the recordings I made and the new one is about the same length as the old one. It is a few seconds longer than the old one, at least on my recordings. I liked your pictures of the new one, look at you breaking the rules! I was also a little jealous of you picture of the fall scene in the land, it wasn't up yet when we rode. I was looking forward to seeing it as it is so cute. Thanks to you I got to see it!

Oh and @Cesar R M had a good suggestion about the umbrella. I have a little one that I put in my purse now for my own personal shade. I used it this past summer and a few weeks ago in September. Hubby even carried and used his one day too.

Speaking of Thanksgiving, that'll be the first holiday without stepgrandpa. :( Every Thanksgiving he alwayd made sure I got the drumstick. He knew it was my favorite. Although every year he'd ask if I had changed my mind about the mashed potatoes. Er...nope.

Gonna be a hard Thanksgiving this year.

Sympathy like.
I remember the first Christmas after my grandfather died (my pops pop - my other 3 grandparents lived for many more years).
It was 1978, and I was 16.
It just wasn't the same. We had a good day, but, it just felt weird without him there.
By the next year, things were pretty much back to "normal".
You never forget, but, time does indeed, to varying degrees, heal.
