Here too.
The green bean casserole with crispy fried onions (funyons?) - not so much.

Canadians are quite fond of Pillsbury crescent rolls. It's not really a holiday meal until you pop a tube or two of those.
We do the green bean casserole too. It seems we eat everything out here. I like Pillsbury rolls too. I just bought on sale, a Pillsbury biscuit and roll cookbook. Looks very yummy.

I will agree with you about the potato salad, Miracle Whip is icky Hellmann's is the way to go. I don't know if I have ever had stuffing without sage (I might have) but it is essential in my homemade one. Although, it does have to be portioned out correctly. We put too much in the stuffing once and it was a little disgusting. I don't understand when recipes call for sausage or oysters in the stuffing, that sounds extremely untasty. The sausage might be okay but the oysters....:hungover:
Cornbread stuffing is good. I don't cook mine cooked in the bird, I bake it in a casserole to give it a crunchy crust.

Cornbread stuffing is pretty good too, I actually like Stove Top's. I've never made that one homemade. I have cooked regular stuffing in the bird and if there is stuff that doesn't fit I might bake it but it usually goes in the crock pot, and it will still get a little crust on it in there.

OMG -- PRECIOUS!!!!! Doesn't look "flawed" to me!!

All of my Pups have been purebreds and have had papers. All rejects by breeders as flawed. Walt was too long, too tall and his blockhead was not block-y enough, worse his yellow fur had a black circle of hair on his neck near where his collar laid.

After looking at the Dudley vs the rest of the colors of labs I can see where some might believe it is a genetic abnormality of long ago but it does have pigment to skin, around eyes and nose just more of a light pastel so I don't get the lack of love.

These clubs that 'show' their breeds have wildly strict rules for standards. Too intense for me.

Too intense for me. I have always had purebred schnauzers, my mom even raised them, but we weren't show people. Well, I did dog training in 4-H but that doesn't count, especially since I didn't place well. That was really my lack of effort with the dogs. Anyway, all this nitpicky stuff about their appearance doesn't do it for me. Imagine if dogs had a reject list for humans based on appearances!

Yes, it most likely is more of a New England regional, market distribution network. (However, Amazon also sells it! Ha! Is there anything out there that Amazon doesn't sell these days?! ;)) I love this stuffing because it's savory, but not in any way, overpowering. Turkey gravy over it is also a delish tip!! :hungry: :hungry:

To answer your veggie question, yes, you do add some diced onion and celery (you saute it first for a few minutes in a little butter, in a small saucepan), and add it to the stuffing mix, (along with the amount of water it says on the package mix.) I don't measure the extra seasoning--it's probably about 2 teaspoons, at the most. Funny, my mother never measured that either--she used to just shake some in there. :)

Thanks!

My Gran taught me to cook. Most of my recipes are not on paper, in my head cause Gran just eyed everything and so do I. I've taught my DD how to make most of the recipes so they will live on by watching me and then she takes notes vs measurements. At least she knows what it should taste like and look like. (my Sis doesn't cook) and I have only two boy cousins from that side of the family that never learned so DD is going to have to carry on the yummy foods.

Hubby, a friend of ours, and I went to the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum today and it was a gorgeous day. The weather was in the low 60's and sunny. The trees weren't as colorful as I would have hoped but there was some and the fall decor was neat. They have scarecrows decorated by members and staff, some were cute and some a little scary. I'll let you decide on which were cute and scary. So here are a few pictures from our day. There were some "Disney" touches too.

There was a cute pumpkin house, I would have loved this as a kid. It would have made a great playhouse.

Guess that is what I love about Pups. They are unconditional. Some humans are very harsh about how they view appearances and not just not Pups. I continue to be stunned by what comes out of peoples mouths. Don't get it.

Now Walt was a good Judge of Character. : ) Still really miss him.
