@ajrwdwgirl I saw on HLN the brewhaha about Mall of America being closed on Black Friday.

I might have heard incorrectly on the early AM news this morning, but I thought they said that it was Thanksgiving Day that they were closing the Mall, so that the employees could enjoy a nice holiday at home with their families. Then, I think they said that they were opening up on the Mall on Black Friday at 5:00 AM.

Yeah it was on our news too but for Thanksgiving Day as @MinnieM123 said. I guess since it is such a big mall it is a symbol of major consumerism and if the big mall is close then all should be I guess. I think I also heard that the Mall said if individual stores want to open it will provided security. So I guess officially the mall is closed but will be open if the stores want to be open. :cautious:

Well, both DDs are currently in Epcot for F&W.
They had planned a cruise with members of their workout group about 6 months ago.
They had planned this day at Disney and then the cruise was supposed to depart tomorrow morning, but, apparently has only been delayed by a day. They are staying at a friend (the one we met up with in Epcot after the Princess 5K) from the groups house that lives in Orlando.
As a result of Matthew they will be hunkering down at her place tomorrow, as well, and then are scheduled to cruise one day late on Saturday morning. The cruise will be cut short by that one day. They have each been given vouchers to use on the cruise as a result.
They face timed me earlier this morning as they were entering Epcot. It was pretty funny...!!! :hilarious:
Stay safe my silly dears...!!!!! :inlove:

Hope your girls stay safe and end up have a good trip despite the storm.

Thanks.
Oldest DD sent out a snap chat a few hours ago...they're havin' a Mojito, Margarita, Hurricane party at their friends house in Orlando... :cyclops:
I've been posting a little in the Hurricane Matthew thread, but, I don't think I've mentioned here that their cruise was, of course, cancelled.
Their friend has graciously offered to put them up for their entire stay through Monday night, along with 2 other ladies from their group that were with them in Epcot today. One from Canada, and one from Scotland.
They plan on hitting MK on Sun. Or Mon. Fingers crossed.
I pray our silly girls stay safe, as it looks like the storm may have taken a bit of a western hop.

I agree with you..
also I've seen his behavior..

IF an uber driver is empty.. they are allowed to get in to PICK UP.
If an uber driver has passengers. They MUST show their magicband or disney card to enter any resort.

Our Uber guys were just waived though each time. They'd barely got drop off out. I loved our Uber service, one nice person after the next. When we were doing an early breakfast at the Poly we were picked up in a huge honk'n pick up truck (4 door) He was so nice. He had just dropped his wife off at the BoatHouse where she worked when our Uber request popped up and he said he was right by us, said perfect timing. Aside from Universal most of our Ubers were $5 or $6 dollars. We still used Disney transportation but it was nice when transportation was out of whack or we were running late for an ADR.

Yep. :/ Hope so too. With the chances of the storm making a U-turn and coming back I wonder if that played into the decision to cancel? Usually when they are gone they don't rebound. Sucidoodles. Glad they are still having some fun. I guess the bartenders are pouring with a heavy hand at most of the lounges tonight. At the Poly the cancelled Luau is being performed in the the lobby. Nice.

Did Disney give any kinda comp for closing early with park tickets?

I'll keep the kiddos in my prayers.

Even as of this morning the cruise line was still going with only a 1-day delayed and shortened cruise. I pretty much knew that wasn't gonna' hold.
They flew out Tuesday night, and models were still showing it possibly moving more out to the east. Just crazy timing.
It seems they're doin' their best, under the circumstances, to enjoy the time anyway.
Their friend and her family are evidently well prepared.
We just pray they stay safe.
