I'm nervous about Disney creating their own version of Uber and Vans in addition to their buses. I have this fear of outragous pricing replacing the pretty reasonable prices of Uber. Uber now is showing all prices before you order an Uber in Orlando. My fear of Disney not allowing Uber to pick up at resorts or using their drop off lanes through the toll areas. We used Uber multiple times our last trip like going to Kona for breakfast at 8am. $5 and I didn't have to deal with Bus and Monorail and we were there in minutes. At best we'd spend $15 a day on Uber and we didn't do that everyday, it was cheaper than a car and we were dropped off very close to the parks not way off in the parking lots. We used it for Universal and it was so cheap and got to pick our times. It is a cheaper way for us than renting a car, hope Disney just leaves it alone.
Agree, but then.. if they block Ube, they will have to block Taxis as well.

My son has a Surface as his work computer with a docking station in his office. Then he can use his regular monitor and keyboard. He also had a keyboard for travel and home use. He is a big fan of his Surface but it did take some time to convert over as things were very different than his PC in his office and the iPad for travel.

Forget what brand my DD has for her work laptop but in the office it took slams into a docking station and hooks upto 2 or 3 monitors if she wants. When she works out of her Home vs Office it stills allows her to use the laptop and monitor. But 2 new laptops in a year isn't screaming reliability.
He had his surfaces replaced or something?

Replaced under warranty? Because if it died in less than a year, it should have been replaced under warranty. My mom had to have her iPad replaced under warranty as well; it happens.

I have the lower end Surface, which was $700 for the 128 gb model, the keyboard, and pen with my student discount. No desire for an iPad, although I've been thinking about replacing my small Android tablet since it was cheap and now only good for Netflix and reading. I love my Surface, and if I could get it to stop randomly hibernating, all would be well. I have one professor that has us turn in her homework on Blackboard. She has us do problems that involve math, so most people have to do the problems on paper and then type them up, which is really tedious. I just do the problems on my Surface with its pen and upload them. No typing them out. Makes homework (and life) SO much easier. If a professor uses Powerpoint and lets us have their slides, I run the PowerPoint at the same time the professor does and scribble notes on the slides, and later I study the PowerPoint.

Macs...I refuse. Nope, nope, nope. It seems to me that Apple tends to get behind in some ways. The Macs and iPads, to me, are very behind PCs, and not just the Surfaces either. I laugh at the commercial for the iPad pro where it says they can write with a pen and have a keyboard. So basically, they finally caught up to Windows tablets. The iPhones being another thing. They're finally water resistant. Whelp, other phone companies have had these for several years now. Apple just seems short on innovation lately. You're paying for quality, but in those prices, you're also paying for the social status if owning an Apple product. Overpriced and behind on the times? No thanks.
I had bought the 256Gb surface pro 3 and it has helped me alot.
No issues with reliability. I suppose I scored a winner.
Plus bought the extras "refurbished" so I paid less.
the best part is that I can draw like a wacom tablet with it as well.
Only problem? the graphic card is very weak on this tablet. The surface 4 supposedly fixed this.

Only thing that happened, was the plug cable recall on the surface.. because the cables might get loose and have a fire (had no issues myself).
Microsoft sent me a replacement cable cost free.

Not an iPhone
yup.. thats a samsung galaxy note7. recalled for fire risk (overheating battery). Supposedly fixed already with a new version.

You know the irony? the chinese batteries used in the chinese note7 version for China.. had no fire risk lol.

turns out it might be the battery manufacturer problem, not samsung.. because the Iphone 7 has been noted to explode but with no fire as well...

http://www.independent.co.uk/life-s...y-note-7-problems-recall-reddit-a7338811.html

I still remember these nokias randomly exploding (battery issues again).
And well, what did they expect.. all of them changed from Japanese high quality batteries, to chinese low quality lower priced ones.

Disney at their resorts only allow Mears Taxi's to pick up guests. Mears is the operator also of the Disney Magical Express. I forget which taxi company Universal allows in at their resorts but it is also only one vetted taxi company. There is quite the gypsy taxi problem in Orlando.

I unfortunately joined the WDW fans too late. by 2013.. the damage was already done to the figment attraction as one of my friends said :(

We would spend hours at Figgy's house when my kids were small. Since we were down there at least two weeks at a time it was an awesome pavilion on a rainy day. So much to do in yesteryear.

Unless it is something that absolutely can't wait don't go. That's my two cents. I'd read a book instead.:bookworm:

So much rain all week. And stupid squirrels keep digging up my Mums and tossing them on the ground. What the heck?

I went to the mall. I hunted down a cute plate and a jar for my DD. She needed the plate for the Basin jar she got at Disney for her hands and a jar to coordinate to hold the wooden ice cream spoon sticks to stick in the jar goo. I just kept sending her pictures as she worked. At least for a few hours I didn't have to see the rain.

I actually like candy corn. I like to mix candy corn and peanuts together, it is a good sweet and salty mix. I had the candy corn ice cream at MK last week and it was delicious, there were candy corns at the bottom. Like I said it was delicious but then when I stopped eating it all of a sudden I felt sick, too much sugar at one time I guess. I would still get it again but I would share it instead of getting my own.

My DS had the Candy Corn ice cream which he thought tasted like vanilla. He doesn't like actual candy corn so he was appalled when he reached the candy at the bottom of the cone, an unwelcomed surprise.

Good morning it's raining and I have a family function I don't want to go to today. I want to see everybody but we'll be stuck inside and the kids will get bored and pesky. I'm going to bring some board games hoping they'll play them.

You could always say that hubs needs extra time to work at home on a deadline project for his job, and maybe that could enable an early family exit?

I wish! He said we'd stay and help with clean up. I really do like everybody who's going but I wish the weather would be nicer so the kids would have more to do. I'm thinking maybe bringing a couple of Disney movies might keep them from going nuts.

Tell me about it. My boys were quite upset when the found out what used to be upstairs. Not liking how it's changed over the years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Before all the changes, computer programs upstairs that were cutting edge for young kids back in the day when the availability at home or in school was scarce, the interactive stuff upstairs for kids of all ages, my DD loved the music based ones and could play forever. The turntable version of the ride with both DreamFinder and Fig and then the theater. So much to do. We could also get lost in the Original exit area of Space Ship Earth, it was awesome, the Land had so many things too back then to get lost in there for a large chunk of time and lets not begin to think about all the stuff in both Innoventions. WoL was also great for a chunk of rainy exploration. If the rain was only going to be about an hour and your feet needed a rest, Energy. My kids were blessed to be young in that era of Future World.

Putting aside the overall dumbing down of Future World. All those things in Future World made Epcot work. So much concrete outside it is a hot park and a rainy climate. There were so many buildings for guests to disperse and get relief from the heat and stay refreshed the entire day or dry. By the time everyone moved onto the WS the temps were better late afternoon evening, there was shade from the trees and nobody was burnt out from the heat and humidity after Future World. The actually broke a well thought out huge park.

And I saw a Red Tractor for you @Wrangler-Rick

She needs some tender loving care. She had an old cart too for pulling some hay.
Yep, it needs a little lovin! :) I'm good for a tractor, but adding a skid steer to the mix; we're doing 1100 lb round bales now and they're too heavy for me to roll through the barn to get the to the door where I can grab them with the tractor...
