Ha! I've always named my cars, some of which over time, I've been more attached to than others. Appliances-I've never heard of that one.
I don't really publicly name them, however, I named my Caddy after my Mother (Ida) not because the car reminded me of her, but, that the GPS lady would continuously remind me to keep going straight or turn left here or you have reached your destination, nag, nag, nag, in a voice the reminded me of her. So I decided that since it was the car talking, I should name the car after her.

That said, it takes a little while to pull out the personality of a vehicle so I will probably eventually come up with something, I just don't have a clue right now. Right now I just call her... young lady! And in an effort to make myself feel better about giving Ida up, try and remember what a "sugar daddy" she thought I was. Sort of like having a rolling blank check just waiting to be filled in.

One of DWifeys cousins sons (her first cousin once removed, I believe?) was born at 14 lbs. No joke. His nickname is "Little John", but, he is actually about 6'-6"-ish these days...!!! :hilarious:

Ha ha ha !!! Don't you love it when they give a "little" name to really big guys? We used to have a kid on the street (back when I was growing up) that we all called, "Tiny" because at age 12, he was already close to 6 feet and weighed around 200! (He wasn't overweight--he looked proportional because he was tall, but the kids couldn't resist calling him Tiny!!) :p

The moment you read a tweet that says Splash closed due to a small fire....:jawdrop:

Read a few more tweets that the fire alarms just went off but know fire....

Happiness when you read on to see Splash is now open again...

Ha! Isn't this always the social media pattern when anything at all happens down there? ;) Sometimes I think that if a leaf falls from a tree in WDW, the forum could end up with 200 "news" posts about it!! :p

My in-laws think the American habit of naming cars or appliances is ridiculous. They apparently don't understand that these things have personalities!!
Forget appliances; my instruments have names. The piano is Veronica, the Violin is Liz, and the Viola is Emma.

My previous car was The Jackrabbit because that thing had some pick up. My current car is Ironman.

I'm not registered to vote. I just think Trump is arrogant. Observation as a person, not a political thing at all.

Since he has a loooong story of being like that in the apprentice and all his past shows. I agree. The bad thing is, you cant even talk anything about his person nowadays.. because it is "politics".

They are both the nominated candidates of the two major political parties in this country in an election year. No one would talk, or care, about either of them if they weren't.
Anything you say about either of them will be "political".
Again, please take it somewhere else.
There are "Survivor", "NFL", "MLB", etc. threads...start a "Politics" thread if you want to discuss politics...again, just stop doing it here, please. Thank you.

Yay! I know we aren't supposed to get political here but I'm not going to talk about candidates so I think this will be fine...

I'm glad that you are still taking your opportunity to vote. I'm am pretty passionate about voting rights. Just think less than 100 years ago woman weren't even allowed to vote an now there is a woman running for president (I would think that was cool no matter the party and no I wouldn't vote based on the gender of the individual). I think it is our most important job as a citizen. A lot of people fought very hard to give us the right to vote and I take that seriously. Short of running for office myself it is the only way I can have a say in our government be it from local government to federal. I firmly believe that if one doesn't vote then they have no right to complain.

One time my mom didn't vote in the mayoral election and it came down to a tie. They literally flipped a coin to decide the winner. The guy she didn't want to win won. I told her it served her right for not voting!

Ok off my soapbox now. Anyway hope your vote in goes well!

Actually, I have every right to not vote and then complain...it's called the First Ammendmant. ;)

Yep, I live about an hour away from it. Although yesterday it was very rainy, lots of traffic, and there was a car on fire on the way so it took longer than usual to get there. The amusement park used to be Peanuts (Charlie brown themed) and called Camp Snoopy and we all called it Camp Shoot me because there were some gang related shootings there when it first opened). It is pretty safe there now, about as safe as anywhere I suppose.

I like shopping at the mall, lots of stores and no sales tax on clothes.
A car.. on fire.. during rain?
