Weird, because the "boss" of this english school was very direct.
The TOEFL test is standardized, and doesn't matter if you're Madonna or President Washington. You will still get the same timelines according for everyone. Not sure about IELTS.
Well, the TEST might be the same, as in, have the same questions or variations of the same questions. But you can not judge a hearing impaired person against someone without that disability on a test that requires you to be able to hear. They HAVE to make it so that everyone can take that test and if they know the answers, be successful. They don't have to give you the answers, or a watered down version, but someone who is blind might have someone who is there to read the test to them. Someone who is dyslexic might be given extra time because it takes them longer to read it. In college, our special education class teacher told us the definition of "fair" is not that everyone gets the same thing, (ie EVERYONE gets noise canceling headphones, or EVERYONE gets a wheelchair) but that everyone has what they NEED.

Unfortunately, my country is very retrograded in that kind of aspect. Most of the cases they have this "Well sorry for you" mentality.
Rarely companies go above to offer handicapped people a way to get proper service.

I just was glancing through this thread and noticed that any mention of me has seemed to completely dropped off the radar so another injection of Goofyernmost life is seeming to be necessary. I did post a picture of a VW Passat that wasn't the one that I was getting and I finally have one of the actual vehicle. I apologize because I'm sure that many of you have been having trouble sleeping nights anxiously awaiting the following picture, so without any further ado or BS... here it is!

Mall of America, as in the one mall that has an entire theme park inside themed to Nickelodeon?

Yep, I live about an hour away from it. Although yesterday it was very rainy, lots of traffic, and there was a car on fire on the way so it took longer than usual to get there. The amusement park used to be Peanuts (Charlie brown themed) and called Camp Snoopy and we all called it Camp Shoot me because there were some gang related shootings there when it first opened). It is pretty safe there now, about as safe as anywhere I suppose.

I like shopping at the mall, lots of stores and no sales tax on clothes.

I got my absentee voting ballot yesterday! Woohoo!!

Yay! I know we aren't supposed to get political here but I'm not going to talk about candidates so I think this will be fine...

I'm glad that you are still taking your opportunity to vote. I'm am pretty passionate about voting rights. Just think less than 100 years ago woman weren't even allowed to vote an now there is a woman running for president (I would think that was cool no matter the party and no I wouldn't vote based on the gender of the individual). I think it is our most important job as a citizen. A lot of people fought very hard to give us the right to vote and I take that seriously. Short of running for office myself it is the only way I can have a say in our government be it from local government to federal. I firmly believe that if one doesn't vote then they have no right to complain.

One time my mom didn't vote in the mayoral election and it came down to a tie. They literally flipped a coin to decide the winner. The guy she didn't want to win won. I told her it served her right for not voting!

Ok off my soapbox now. Anyway hope your vote in goes well!

Like @ajrwdwgirl said Happy farm market Saturday. Maybe not so happy for me. My dh is going with me. I really don't need anything because we filled the car yesterday and he did almost all the lugging of bushels to the car.:) But I'm sure we'll find something we didn't find yesterday. Hopefully some corn because the one stand that had some had yucky looking corn. If we don't find any no big deal but I want some for grilling tonight and some for soup tomorrow. My dh has some errands to run while I'm getting my nails done and every place we need to go is with in a couple of blocks so at least we'll save on gas. But I'm sure my dh will find a way to spend money we don't need to:rolleyes:

Every once in a while this does happen. In our little Hamlet being a tiny town a local election did come down to a vote years ago shortly before I ran for a local office. It was a choose for 3 election. One came down to one of the candidates loosing by one vote. He was one of the more moderate, easy going previous board members liked by most that knew the board. Fortunately he was reappointed later as a member moved and a slot reopened but it did remind me every vote can matter.

Our Market is only open a couple more weeks and the crops are becoming more marginal. Last week I found some nice looking tomatoes and was pretty excited. That was until one emploded literally. The outside still intact the center actually exploded-everywhere. What the heck?

Who knows, there are people so bad at cooking that they can set fire to a salad. So what if theres an employee at Splash thats so bad at his work.. that caused a fire! :p

Problem with not posting from my laptop. It should have read NO fire vs know fire. By how quickly the attraction re-opened the fire if there was one vs a disfunction was resolved quickly. It did though make me in my mind think about Splash. A fire in there and guests being evacuated and walking down-well that would not be pretty. It is situations like this that ended well that gives staff the opportunity to give pause and evaluate situations that normally do not happen some review. Glad it worked out well. I'm hard pressed to think of what an individual could have done to cause such a problem but with all the electrical props in that attraction I guess anything could have the potential to have issues.
