Craziness in Charlotte tonight.
Ugh. Repeat basically of what happened in Baltimore. I fully understand why they are angry and why they feel the need to protest. But the violent protests accomplish absolutely nothing except to destroy property, cause hundreds of thousands of dollars worth if damage, and further strain police-civillian relations.

not that the non violent protest have done anything anyway. All cops involved in these kind of events still get "cleared" by their superiors instead of being reviewed by FBI or federal agents that have no bias.
So no surprise the violent protests are getting more common.

Actually, as it turns out, I'm going to Hershey Park on Saturday. One of my friends texted me last night and said she had an extra ticket. So we're going Saturday. Should be fun.
Congrats! I wish I could go and meet up with you way to much running around and other things to do around here. Have lots of fun and eat some chocolate for me and wave to the factory from the monorail LOL

it doesn't really help the cause. But as well all know Obama and media will get involved and twist it to their own spin. Affirmative Action doesn't help either even though your supposed to do it.

That's just crazy though. If you have a family of four, that's almost $800.00 just for the tickets, and then you have dinner, parking, and forget about it if you want drinks at the theatre and souvenirs, etc. But anyway, I get it. As long as people keep paying, they will keep charging - same as Disney.
;)
Sure, but, will you still feel that way when one of your plays starts to pull in that kind of money? All you have to do is get a million, or so, of your close friends to start spreading the word that your stuff is all must see, direct from a genius, and you can then refuse to take the money, because they will just keep paying, like lambs headed toward slaughter, or enjoy your success. I'd go with the latter. :joyfull:

I've tried the DQ dogs. They are alright, but, I really think that BK's are a little better. As a kid I got spoiled concerning hot dogs. Up in upper, upper NY State, the big quick food thing was Michigan Red Hots. They were not really spicy like the name suggests, but, they were great. A seasoned hamburg sauce, a steamed bun slit on the side so it was like a boat. The boiled hot dog with chopped onions (optional) covered over with that sauce and a single stripe of yellow mustard on top and it was heaven. Of all the foods that I miss the most from my childhood that is the main one. I have experimented with many recipes for the sauce over the years and have yet to really duplicate it, but, if I ever do, I am going to open up a stand and sell them. What passes for them down here are chili dogs... not the same thing believe me. To begin with if the bun isn't steamed... I'll pass!

As a kid, I remember car hop service. You could get the hot dogs or a hamburger, if you were a person that didn't know any better, fries and soda or, in my case, Chocolate Milk. I remember the night I was going into the hospital to get my tonsils out, I was 5 years old (just a mere 63 years ago) and my mom and dad wanted to know what I wanted for dinner. I said I wanted a Nitzi's (name of the place not the item) Amazing, how I can still taste it and even smell it right now as I type. The best part about this way is that there are no calories. I'm spending way to much time lately thinking about the past when hopefully I still have a bunch of future to go. So I guess I better just move on.

Just curious, since you used to live in Vermont--did you also have the (actual color) red hot dogs up there, too? I LOVE the red hot dogs they sell in Maine. They're probably total garbage (if you boil them, you can see the red dye in the water! :hilarious: ) But, they are so tasty!! :hungry: (I don't have them often, because they're really hard to find in my state.) Note: These are not the Michigan red hots you referred to. Just wondering if you also had the Maine version.

Yes, we had that type available everywhere I have lived, including here in NC. When I was younger we used to have them once in awhile, but, not often as they (natural casing franks) were more expensive. Also my mother objected to what they were encased in. She never did get the link sausage connection and we never told her.

Wow! Most stay two days in hospital, rarely less than one night here. Me with DS 5 nights and my OB still really didn't want me to leave but did. I was fine after DD but with her being in the NIC unit I wasn't going anywhere.
Well, over here, most women do home births. It's rare for a woman to give birth in a hospital. Usually only high risk pregnancies are done in hospital. They also don't usually give you any kind of pain medication unless there's a necessity. With me, I told them the very first appointment with my mid-wife that I wanted to be in a hospital, and I wanted drugs. She said they don't do that, that they'd have to see how the labor was going. With DD, because I had been in labor for several hours without progress, they needed to give me something to make the contractions productive, BUT, that also made the contractions stronger, so then I needed the epidural to take the edge off of them. Otherwise, they wouldn't have given them to me. With my son, they wouldn't give me anything. They said I was doing fine without them and it was progressing on its own, so I didn't need anything. It also went really fast, and they won't give you anything unless they can monitor for half an hour first, and because they didn't know how much longer it would take, if they had time to monitor, they wouldn't let me have anything. But most women give birth in their own bed at home and don't even need to be in the hospital at all unless something goes wrong.

Good morning. I just realized James has no sleep pants that fit. I have a bunch of fleece for just such an emergency, but i only had a kids sized and a men's m,L pattern and that one runs big to begin with. I took a pair of his jeans and drafted my own pattern. Wish me luck, I think I have all the right measurements. If not they should fit me:D

Everyone will try to make it political at this point while technically doing nothing of real substance.
