I've tried the DQ dogs. They are alright, but, I really think that BK's are a little better. As a kid I got spoiled concerning hot dogs. Up in upper, upper NY State, the big quick food thing was Michigan Red Hots. They were not really spicy like the name suggests, but, they were great. A seasoned hamburg sauce, a steamed bun slit on the side so it was like a boat. The boiled hot dog with chopped onions (optional) covered over with that sauce and a single stripe of yellow mustard on top and it was heaven. Of all the foods that I miss the most from my childhood that is the main one. I have experimented with many recipes for the sauce over the years and have yet to really duplicate it, but, if I ever do, I am going to open up a stand and sell them. What passes for them down here are chili dogs... not the same thing believe me. To begin with if the bun isn't steamed... I'll pass!

As a kid, I remember car hop service. You could get the hot dogs or a hamburger, if you were a person that didn't know any better, fries and soda or, in my case, Chocolate Milk. I remember the night I was going into the hospital to get my tonsils out, I was 5 years old (just a mere 63 years ago) and my mom and dad wanted to know what I wanted for dinner. I said I wanted a Nitzi's (name of the place not the item) Amazing, how I can still taste it and even smell it right now as I type. The best part about this way is that there are no calories. I'm spending way to much time lately thinking about the past when hopefully I still have a bunch of future to go. So I guess I better just move on.
Our A&W still has the car hops. They close for the winter this weekend. :(

Fortunately, we have a full-sized DQ just 5 mins. away in our neighborhood. :)
Sometimes it seems like we have darn near everything 5 mins. away...! :hilarious:
We also have a good Tex-Mex place and a Subway within walking distance.
They're also building a full-sized P. Terry's (local burger joint) in our neighborhood...! :hungry:
I forgot to mention, P. Terry's donated $25,000 to the DDs pediatric cancer nonprofit on the night of the gala last Saturday. It's by far the largest single donation they have ever received. The owner of the company is very well-known for his philanthropy...! :)
That's an awesome donation. Our DQ and Subway are next to each other and close. Everything else is a bit of a drive for us. I make sure to take a list to the grocery store because I'm not driving back into town for what I forgot.

A closed A&W has no car hops, so not really something that matters in the winter. Most areas don't even have A&W's anymore or at least none that I have seen recently. There used to be a lot of them up north... none that I have seen in the past 10 years.
There are a lot of them over here, but the only one I remember seeing with car hops is up in Iron Mountain, MIchigan...

And some of the most effective means of change were non violent. Martin Luther King Jr. brought attention to issues of segregation without violence. Ghandi helped India gain its independence with absolutely no fighting. Being peaceable, especially in this day and age, does a whole lot more good than violence and agression.
Disagree, while I agree in this case. The revolutions and most cases of independence were bloody and violent affairs.. the powerful will never let their power go easily.

Both statements are true. However, please keep all violence away from historical buildings. With the being said...the modern aspect of independence is totally different today. I can't imagine an American Revolution happening today if the British were in charge. Actually.....

I know, I know. My grocery bills are crazy. No sooner put it on the shelf and it is gone:facepalm:

Hahaaa...!!! :hilarious:
Reminds me of myself and my 2 younger brothers (younger sis, not so much) back in the day. We ate like horses, but, we were so active our BMI was probably about 20. :)
I've posted this before, but, a coupla' years ago my folks financial planner was thrown a party by his company for 30 years (I think?) of being with his company. My folks were invited, too. In his speech, he specifically mentioned our family. He used to come over every now and again years ago while we were all still at home and meet with my pop at the dining room table. He said something to effect of "When I was at their house, I don't remember the refrigerator door ever being closed!" :joyfull: :hilarious:

I don't think we have any A&Ws left around here either or Hardee's. But in the last decade we now have a few Sonic's. They unlike the others stay open year round.

Both are dead.
Black still suffer from discrimination.
India is right now on the brink of war against Pakistan for Terrorism. And who knows what interests benefit to see them both fighting again.
As for those in power. The powerful just got smarter and knows how to use the 4th power (news and media) to manipulate and make anyone an enemy.

And Disagree again, it depends on the place you are. Not everyone gets the same treatment to the "law" or power.
The entire world is not the US or Europe in rights.
Protesting could get you killed easily in many countries.

Thats the sad part of violent movements. They rarely have real limitations or rules.
And the historical sites are usually the first to get damaged and most o the times.. they are irreplaceable. (like those historical stuff from Syria)
