You more than anyone know my long decades of stories of my Dad. He retired early at 62 because he feared he'd die. He did have some health issues here an there and a pain in the butt, gloom and doom but he lived to 87 always talking of the time that was a coming. I find it sad that he spent so much time thinking of death. 62 - 87 is a great span to have been gloomy. A waste.

Both of my folks have never been doom and gloomers.
Although, at this point, even though they both know that time is not necessarily on their side, they both deal with it mostly in a jocular manner. :)

Sympathy like. I'm lucky we live in a good district so it's live here go here for us. Is there one or 2 schools that would best fit her needs and interests? maybe if you could get the list of choices down to 2 or 3 it might make things easier for her. Good luck

That's one of the things that we've loved about our neighborhood...a good school district. Our high school has been ranked well into the top 100 in the nation for many years now.

I've seen both movies. The original more times than I remember, the second a coupla' times...maybe 3? Definitely like the original better. The remake is definitely a bit odd.
I think we read the book in elementary school, but, I don't remember anything about it... :cyclops:
I always watch the original when I know it's on...! :)
My daughter read it in class last year.

I loved most of those things, back in the day... especially hearing all the coins dropping in the pay phones. I love the library, it was a treat to go there, when I was young. I loved getting a poetry book, it was a special time. I also loved James Whitcomb Riley. And Jean Stratton books. She was a writer from Indiana. I wouldn't trade those times for anything. It was a quiet time in my life, it was so short but sweet.
I love the library too. Ours has a lot of free activities for people of all ages.
