Ivory Tower Squabble EST 2011. WINDMILL SURVIVOR
I won't even try and play catch up. I am home from my vacation. I really missed my computer. Internet at the hotels was terrible, and phone service in the rooms non existent. I took lots of pics, despite all the rain. The Halloween Party and Harry Potter were the highlight of my trip, that along with watching two delightful kids enjoying lunch with Chip and Dale, and Pluto, and Mickey at the Garden Grill. Vacation is what we make of it. I felt like a duck part of the time, but cast members, and guests alike sent birthday wishes my way, and made me feel like a queen.

It will take me days before I sort out all the pics that I put on the cell phone, and the camera. A full blown trip report - Maybe.
I agree. Worst internet since 2012. Plus they took our power down for an annual test last night for 2 hours A days notice. I'm in data again

I know I made is sound melodramatic, but, I don't really dwell on it either. I think about it more then I used to, but, I still plan ahead, like buying a new car financed over years like it is a given that I will be around to pay it off. Hopefully I will be, but, it is something that people of a certain age do think of more then we ever thought we would, but, we don't carry it around like a giant weight either. I think we just find a way to accept that it is the future, at some point, whereas we never did that 20 years ago. Invincible was our name... living forever was our game.

I've had three uncles that never made it to 65 and four cousins that didn't either. One was 58. My Father was 74, but, my mother was 87. I have already beaten many of them so I've got that going for me. I remember my father saying to me, just 2 months before he died unexpectedly, that he wanted to live as long as his father who was 88. I don't even dare to say that for fear of not making it to even 74 which is just 6 years away.:jawdrop: I'm superstitious that way.:joyfull:

As I've posted before, I hope you're around for a whole lot longer.
It sounds like you've got a lot of health issues under control (the prostate hasn't progressed in over a year?).
And, as I've posted before, even if we're on track heath-wise, there's always the potential of being hit by a truck, etc.
No Danny Downer here, just the facts...! ;)

On a Disney bus heading to parks. They are playing Harry Potter loop. Whole bus is muttering about it lol.
This weekend, what used to be called the ABC Family channel (don't remember what it is called now) ran a weekend marathon of Harry Potter Movies. Disney profits from that IP, without actually owning it. The do own the rights to show the movies though.

@FutureCEO , I have the Reese's donut review for you. Grabbed one yesterday at Dunkies on my way into work. Surprisingly, I gave it a 75%, not 100. The odd reason is that I decided I didn't "love" peanut butter cream filling in a sweet donut with the chocolate glaze on the top. It was almost like the peanut butter filling wasn't sweet enough (for me), as it was more peanut tasting. Just thought it detracted from what could have been an awesome combination.

Personally, I like my my peanut butter to taste peanuty, my chicken to taste chickeny, my steak to taste steaky, and my fish to taste fishy, etc....! :D ;)

These days, I'm pretty sure TWDC owns everything...including Gates, Dell, Taco Bell, and even Oprah...!!! :joyfull:

Thank you! I really like the bigger farm market because there's so much more selection and the farmers have larger quantities of what they do have! I just wish it was more convenient to get to. I got a couple of pounds of okra(not something normally founds at my regular place), eggplant(cheaper at the bigger one), heirloom tomatoes, pears, poblano peppers(again not an usual item), green beans and a few other items. I made to my regular place yesterday and got my eggs and the rest of the veggies for the week

Poblano peppers...
Chili relleno...!!! :joyfull:

People are interesting.

We send out a lot of emails to people we think might be interested in a position. I got this one reply where the person said, "I was pondering responding to this until I noticed the spelling mistake in the last sentence. I would not be supervised by an employer who makes such mistakes."

I replied back, "Thank you for letting us know. We will be happy to correct this error. Best wishes in finding future employment."

What I actually meant was, "Good luck finding the absolute perfect employer who is willing to put up with you carp."

last day of cruise, going to miss the Oasis.
truly an amazing engineering marvel.
the shows are incredible.
loved CATS and FROZEN ON TIME shows best.
we also seen some bad stuff too lol, like some word fights between a woman and a bunch of invasive vendors at labadee. it got so bad even a Royal Caribbean officer had to get involved and gave a good scolding to some vendors.
Pretty sure some of them got reported and might be expelled of the vendor area.
The Columbus cove was amazing to swim.. like a cup of tea, tiny waves and super soft sand.

Just a tip, eat as soon the darn bbq restaurant opens.
The Ribs run out so fast its not even funny.

there is also something I hated of this cruise. The darn shopping ads everywhere and how they shove you stuffs and "offers" 24/7.
Its overhelming. Stores all the time, watches, luxuries..etc.. via TV, via Ads, via Paper Ads, via the daily planner..etc.. every single day.
Not a fan of "shopping" experiences myself.
The Royal cruise seems way too focused on comercialization.

So, scores so far..

FOOD:
Disney Wonder wins! (we had a few bad food experiences in the Oasis, including flavourless food or dry meat)

SNACKS:
Disney Wonder wins! (while the oasis seems to have more options, a lot of them are upcharge, like the icecreams, I swear the Wonder's pizza was better than Sorrentos, even if Sorrents had more speciality pizzas and build your own pizza stands)

SHOWS:
Oasis of the Seas wins! (despite how awesome the shows at Disney are, the shows of the OASIS, including COME FLY WITH ME, CATS, the comedy shows, etc..etc.. the OASIS as overhelming quality in entertainment)

CHILDREN and Character Stuff
Disney Wonder wins! (Despite the Dreamworks stuff, they seem to be lacking a lot in characters, shows, etc.. Characters just stand and pose like a normal meet and greet in very specified times, and at most they do a tiny dance.. thats all! In the wonder you get huge atrium parties with characters!)

SHIP:
DRAW(no comparison as the wonder is a medium sized ship and the oasis is a behemot. I think the oasis has the advantage in having way more stuff, like full sized courts, tons of pools, arcades, playing areas, neighbourhoods AND wave simulators. Yet the ship was kinda tiring to move around. The wonder felt cozy and friendly all the time, and very easy to navigate)

CUSTOMER SERVICE:
Disney Wonder wins by a landslide! (despite having some really nice folks in the OASIS, the workers looks tired, overworked and sometimes even bored, They do not smile. The only good services we had were the stateroom clerk, the main restaurant, the singers of CATS and Come fly with me, and some adorable chinese lady that worked as waiter in a coffee. In disney evertything felt ultra friendly. So the Disney difference is definitively an insane difference)

Not to mention that restaurants like the Windjammer, feel horribly crowded during certain times. The elevators as well after some shows.

also, something funny that happens in ALL MY TRIPS.
IT ALWAYS RAINS IN THE LAST DAY..
for the past 15 years of flying and going on vacations.. the last day will always have rain for me.

tomorrow going to be probably offline the entire day to handle the transfer from the OASIS to my hotel and then in the next day will depart back to mexico.

Interesting comparisons. I wonder how it would measure up to the Dream which is a little bigger than the Wonder. Anyway, I'm glad that you had a good time and have safe travels home!

Me at the beginning of today: "Maybe I'll skip the wine tonight and work on some homework when I get home."

Me at work right now: "Where's the wine?"

I hear ya! Really hectic day today, so I came home and we took the dog for a walk, then hubby had to go to a wedding rehersal so it was time for "me time". I filled the bathtub (piled high with bubbles) and relaxed with a beer and listened to some Disney instrumental music. By the time that bath was done I was really relaxed.

Yep, hopefully with a wink, wink, nudge, nudge, but, also with an understanding that her advice should be taken seriously.
The last Doctor I had tried to pull the hollier than thou carp on me. I fired her and found another Doc.
Wink, wink, gudge, grudge, bit of a go, say no more.... :hilarious:

OK, obscure Monty Python reference...

HERETIC!!!!!! :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
I knew I was going to get that response. :hilarious:

Well, hey, I watched TNG, DS9, Voyager, AND the new movies before I finally got around to TOS. What can I say, I was born in the 90s.

But if it makes you feel better, while the new actor does a fabulous job with Dr. McCoy, no one could possibly be as charming in that role as DeForest Kelley was.
