So nice of you to donate. My hair is thinning out. Beer does make it look better. I only use it when I go out. With hair products, for me...my hair gets used to it and it doesn't work. I change shampoo's frequently.
DD and I both have really thick hair that grows really fast. So we donate every few years. This was my 4th time and DD's 2nd time. I'm not real happy about the cuts this time...the stylists didn't listen. I showed them a picture of what we both wanted and NEITHER of us got even CLOSE to what we showed them. It's the same length, and that's where the resemblance ends. When the gal was "finished" with mine, I made her go back and cut some locks around my face to frame it because she just gave me a plain old page boy cut and it looked horrid. Now it at least has some shape to it, but it's definitely not what I wanted. But it was too short to go back and doctor...I was afraid if I made her do more, I'd end up bald. DD's would be fine except for she wanted wispy bangs like I have and the gal cut them way too thick and too wide across her forehead. DD doesn't like them much. So we're going to grow them out and then -I- will cut them like I cut mine...this is why I don't let anyone else cut my bangs. Next time, though, I'm requesting the person who cut mine LAST time, who listened and gave me exactly what I wanted.

Yep. It was an excellent trip. But on the flipside I'm am very envious of the trip package from across the pond that you guys were able to snag. We here in the states don't ever get packages like that.
That's true...we do get great packages. I'm so glad I found the blog that mentioned it or I'd never have known and we'd not have gotten this trip like we did. It would have been a 4 or 5 day, not in a resort vacation. This was much better!

My niece is visiting for a couple days. Yesterday we went to the zoo in St.Paul, and today we walked in a 5k race my town is having. Then we took her to see Petes Dragon. Fun times and I was really impressed by Petes Dragon as I was not a big fan I of the original. There were even parts where I teared up.

Here's a couple shots from the conservatory at the zoo. The zoo and gardens are free.

And a carousel from the early 1900's.

And our 5k took us out into the country, not where I normally walk. It was pretty and the rain held off until the end.

And no, we weren't leading the pack.

Now it's time to go to the tractor parade! Then grilled pizza. We had the horse parade last night. There are fireworks tonight too, the aren't Disney but we may be listening to wishes in the car as they go off.

Tractor parade? Horse parade? Those sound different and fun. Wish we had those around here. :(

By the way, your photos are gorgeous. You live in a pretty area of the country.

that stinks. You really deserved a nice cut for donating your hair. A few times a year some very nice salons give free cuts for people donating and ship the hair

We bought the Greek, szechuan chicken and Indian. The indian was good, the Greek was meh and the chicken was disgusting.

Regarding those Lays chips with different flavors that you and @ajrwdwgirl were discussing, once again, you must be in a test market for those flavors. I've never seen those out here. This drives me crazy when certain foods or beverages are distributed to other areas of the country, and we don't have them!! :banghead: I may or may not like the flavors, but I'd be curious to try them.

I stopped into the grocery store with my niece today and she noticed these chips. So of course we bought a bag. They are really yummy, they remind me a bit of a sour cream and onion but not as tangy. They definitely don't taste like steak or chimmichuri but they are good. They are a nice way to honor the Olympics!

There are also Chinese, Greek, and Indian flavors. We only bought the Brazilian.

That really sounds disgusting. My favorite chips are Cape Cod. Lays are ehhh

So pretty.

I'm hoping as I catch up there is tractor parade pictures. My DD with her unexplainable tractor fetish would love that parade.

She came right out when we got home. Our neighbor took care of her, and she likes our neighbor, so she wasn't completely distressed, nor was she giving me the angry meow she sometimes does. We cuddled, she purred, and then I got ready for bed and was laying in bed. For some reason, she refused to come up and was laying on my floor staring at me, like, "You left me, and I am most displeased." Now she's tucked under my arm and purring.

Awe. Glad she wasn't too annoyed with your vacation. Seems like she forgave you pretty quickly and climbed in. Guess she had to pout on the floor for a few minute for a mild protest first.

I understand the frustration with distribution of limited time foods. We have been on the lookout for the Fruity Pebbles Oreos all summer.
It is almost fall and still not around.

As for the Lays, it is hit or miss here too and some I'd just never give a try but it is fun here and there to try the new ones. Try peeking at the racks of chips at Subway. That is where we see them in the small bags.

Funny how last month JK Rowling was done with Harry Potter and now she's back in the news release more carp. It's time to let Harry Potter die. Let it go into pop culture history.

She's worst than sport stars who want to come back

Yes, I've read that, and actually, last time we donated our hair, they didn't charge us for DD and myself for the cuts. This time they did. It looks better today than it did yesterday...ironically, I'm better at styling this cut than the gal who did it. So it's decent, but next time I'll ask for Ans anyway. She did a good job last time.
