When our daughter got married, and we had the second dance, me and son in law. And hubby and daughter. Son in law was happy laughing, daughter and dad was crying.

At oldest DDs wedding, she chose Louis Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World" for our father daughter dance. We used to sing it together when she was a child.
It was all I could do to keep it together, but, somehow, I did.

You're lucky... I have never had a bucket list per se! Occasionally, something will come up that sounds interesting, but, that is usually when I was looking for something to do right now. The only thing that I can think of was I always wanted to go to the Master's Golf Tournament in Augusta, Ga., but, I never seriously thought it would happen. I accidentally ran into a situation that allowed me to go so I just referred to it as checking off an item on my list even though I never had a list.

I wonder if that is just lack of coming up with something "special" that I want to do or just lacking in any goals at all. I guess that at least I won't die thinking that I didn't get everything done that I wanted. I cleaned my shower today and crossed that off my list, if that counts. :joyfull:
I don't really have a bucket list of things to do, but I have a list of places I'd like to go someday if I have the opportunity. The only thing I REALLY don't want to miss is Italy. I really want to go there some day...but, the chances are pretty good that I will be able to do that later. They have long bus trips here that go to several places. I want to see Florence, Rome, etc, but I also want to visit a few places in Sicily. These bus tours take you to multiple places and you don't have to stick with the bus. DH and I did Paris by bus twice and we didn't stay with the bus tour people either trip. We used the bus to get us there, and we stayed in the hotel included in the package, and if there was something not too expensive we wanted to do, we did that. But there was a walking tour that cost extra...why should I pay to walk through Paris when I can do that for free? So we did the boat tour, but not the walking tour. We got ourselves subway passes and just went where we wanted to go. We saw SO much more than anyone else, and we didn't just drive by the sites...we got to go up and take pictures. So I'm confident that we will do one for Italy someday, just not now, because as long as my dad is living, I want to go spend time with him when we have the time and money for a big vacation. When he's gone, I'll do my traveling. Though some of my friends from a Harry Potter forum got together 2 years ago and we went to London and did all the HP sites together and they are planning a trip next year to Dublin and I hope I can go to that. Ireland is on my list, so it would be nice to go there. But I'm not going to be disappointed if I never get to all the places in my lifetime. Any heaven of mine would have to have lots of books and travel opportunities, and historical figures/my ancestors to talk to.

That seems WAY handier than WDW. It took SOOOO long to get anywhere. You needed at least an hour and a half each way if you needed to transfer...since there was no transportation between resorts, you had wait for a bus to a park, get to that park, then transfer to the other resort transportation. We BARELY made it to Whispering Canyon...we had to go from Blizzard Beach to...I think it was maybe Animal Kingdom? Then to Caribbean Beach, then to Magic Kingdom, then to Wilderness Lodge. And we were LUCKY that we never had to wait long for a bus.
I looked it up, though...Universal DOES have transportation from the airport, but you have to pay extra for it.
Wait, you went from BB to AK to CS to MK to WL? That's so out of the way. There are direct busses from BB to WL. It's quicker (and less crowded) to connect resort to resort through DS.

Funny story...my dad is not at all a sentimental guy. I think I was about 22 the first time he said he loved me, and only after I said it first. So, when hubby and I got married, I told dad that I'd really like to have a traditional daddy daughter dance, and asked if there was a particular song he'd like to dance to (because really none of the music that daddies and daughters usually picked applied or spoke my feelings) and he said he'd "always been partial" to Some Enchanted Evening from the musical South Pacific. Being a singer myself and loving musicals, that was fine with me...sweet and something that we share. Nice. So there we are, dancing and I was waiting for the typical "You look beautiful, I'm proud of you, I hope he makes you happy"...you know...all the sappy stuff dads are supposed to say to their daughters on their wedding days. But...it was still MY dad, who had a hard time saying "I love you". It's a great memory now and cracks me up, but this is what my dad was telling me while we were dancing in his slow cowboy Wyoming drawl: "There's what they call a bed in a bag out in the pickup truck. Now, I looked for 100% cotton, but they must not carry that, so it's 50% cotton and 50% polyester. There's some...oh hell...I think it's bears or deer or something on it and maybe some leaves...like maple leaves like they have in Canada on it and it's in neutral colors...." he went on the WHOLE dance, telling me all about the bed in a bag. Everyone kept telling me "Oh that was so sweet, watching you dance with your dad" and I'd just start laughing because it was the funniest thing. That was SO my dad...that's a great memory because it is truly him. It makes me smile.

Yeah, but we couldn't go to dinner in our beach wear. We had to go back to CBR to change and drop off our towels, etc before we could head to WL. And after 1pm there were no direct buses from BB to CBR, so you had to go to AK first and THEN to CBR. Then we cleaned up, changed clothes and had to go to MK because that's the closest one to WL, and then take the boat to WL.

You have no idea just how true that is, but, that is for another thread. :in pain:
Hi @betty rose! Hope you are having a great day. Thanks! We are having a fun summer. We have been hiking some and gone to Atlanta to see the Braves play one weekend. In between thunderstorms, that is. For some reason, we are in the rain zone this summer. We have had rain every day this week except for one. We are trying to get some house painting done, but that doesn't seem to be working very much. Maybe next week I can get some more done. It is supposed to feel like Fall with dry days! I am so ready for that! Hope you have a great weekend! :)
Thanks we are expecting storms with high winds, little rain and large hail. The the cold temps arrive. low 40's I would love to call this fall over, and winter over.

I forgot to say, I was happy too. She picked someone from Indiana, we all had the same experiences. I'm happy to say we love our in laws, and son in law. Life is good. We plan a trip to visit them. They live where we lived in Kansas. Funny how lives, intertwine.

OMG! I almost quoted this to that post too, but, since I'm so far behind in ketchup, I moved on!
Our kiddos and us loved that movie...!!! :inlove:
Me too. I wish I could live another life just to shelter more doggies. I've related to them since I was very little, around 4 with Trixie, being my first best friend.
