The UI can be a bit of shock if you jump straight into it from 7, that is true. But, it's leaps and bounds above the 8x Metro interface (even though that still exists).

Just get used to asking cortana to do stuff for you and life is pretty easy. Under the hood, most of it is actually pretty much the same as 7 (in terms of admin utilities, etc...the control panel options are still there).

I use Safari, on my Mac Computer, and it blocks the ads. If I had to deal with ads, I wouldn't be here, or where I have been posting since 2005. Does that make me bad?

I understand, hubby got burned out, and quit his job at 64, not full retirement age, of 66 for us. He does a small amount of part time work. That helps.

My Hubby is a Warehouse Manager and to say the least it is not the most stress free job. He is hoping to be able to retire in his Mid 60's and have me retire in my early 60's so it can be around the same time.

I am still rejecting Windows 10, it is so full of bugs.

not that many anymore, if you have windows 8, the upgrade is a must.
if you're upgrading from a windows7.. id recommend you do a backup and make a clean installastion.

Not good news for Brazilian tourism for sure. And that Judo player was mugged a few days ago too. I read in the article a Portuguese official and some Australians were mugged recently too.

I think the judo one was russian, because he removed the gun of the assaultant and killed him with his own gun.

also an olympic security guard was killed when he made a bad turn and ended in a dangerous fabela, they left the body emptyt of any belongings.

I upgraded to Windows 10 about 2 months ago and at first to be honest I was lost with it. I am also not the computer person at all. Now though I actually like it better than Windows 8.

not at all. We as owners and customers.. we have the right to select what we want to see.
no different from owning a TV. you can change the channel anytime to skip the ads. or just use netflix for example.

Oh my, stay safe. I saw Louisiana about 6 A.M. this morning. So awful. They can't get a break down there.

I still have the image of that car rescue from loussiana that appeared on cnn.
seriously distressing, good that she was rescued along with her dog. but jeebus.. only took 5 seconds to see her car sink below the water. it could have been her graveyard.
but we're safe. no floods in our area thank gods.

I'm not necessarily blaming W-10 on this, it's just that it started within a couple of days after Microsoft decided that they could just download whatever they wanted to my computer without my permission. It was permission by omission. All I know is that something is wrong and I am not computer savvy enough to know what to do about it.

thats the only thing I hate about windows 10. It just follows the cellphone logic.. patches witouth explanation or notes.
also you cant refuse the patches, just delay their installation.

You know how in the Closing Ceremonies they say if the Olympics were a success. Well if they were being completely honest with this one it certainly was not with all the pool issues, water issues for kayaking and rowing, and now these muggings

Yes. Known issue with Chrome. Not just this site. The embedded Flash that comes with Chrome is wonky as all heck.

still.. more secure and less heavy than the adobe one.. adobe's versions are a mess!
and having to instsll the patches manually (sspecially when they can release up to 5 versions in a single week.. is annoying as hell)

Also, if you really want that start menu win 7 style back (understandable), just install ClassicShell.

I actually love the merge between classic start menu and the metro menu.
the active tiles on the 7 type menu is awesome. definitively not going back to classic shell or metro exclusive menu.

Yea, but I'm referring to Windows 10 itself. I hated the way they tricked me into loading it. A window appeared and asked if I wanted to upgrade for free... Windows 10. They gave me two options one was download later or start download now. I didn't want either so I just closed the window. 15 minutes later they were downloading "10". Once they were done, Window 7 was gone forever and I had to figure out "10". I guess it was OK, but, is surely was sneaky and vague about what was about to happen. It never said, if you don't choose one of those two options we are going to load it anyway. Really ticked me off. But, there is not much I could have done about it at the time.
