One Little Spark...
The weird thing it only seemed to affect this site for some reason. I never had a problem with it before I joined here yesterday.
I've had it wonk out on me on other sites as well...but, yeah, I hear ya, I'm pretty sure it was the constant crashing on this site that made me investigate the issue in the first place, as I recall.

But, again, known issue. What I don't know is why chrome hasn't patched it away yet...it's been going on for years (though, granted, it was far, far worse at one point...)

New appliances stink, oven, fridge, dishwasher, furnace, air-conditioning. They don't last long at all. My Mom had a refrigerator that was over 40 years old, and still running, when she moved. I hate the throw away society, and cheap, cheap, cheap, manufacturer's. They charge a small fortune and don't make things that last. My rant for the day! Guess , I'm frustrated with the like situation!;):rolleyes:
They don't make things to last like they use to.

You may want to share your computer difficulties in the Forum Help and Announcements thread as well. That way, Steve will see these and may be able to offer solutions, or other users may also be able to help. He's suggested this in the past when people are having forum computer issues, as he doesn't have time to read all the various forum threads; but if people post in the Forum Help and Announcements thread, he can devote resources to that.

Aside of sharing the above (which will reach a larger forum audience), Cesar RM on Chit Chat here is wonderful and has shared tips with many of us when we're having difficulties.
Yes he is. He has been a great help to hubby, and me. I tell hubby to read the suggestions from @Cesar R M. And he implements them.

Yes, but at least the issue is fixed for now.

Do you actually fry the French fries? I only use the oven to make then, then I only have to throw away the foil I line the cookie sheet with. I also make my bacon on a broiler pan in the oven. It is less messy as the fat drips to the bottom of the pan and I can put it in the oven and go away for about 15 minutes and not have to stand around frying it.
I do the same with homemade chips. Slice the potatoes thin, put on foiled tray, drizzle a little oil and shake on bbq seasoning.

I'm in the same situation. It is only here I had those issues. My DD who gets far more computer things than I do believes it is the triangle between the ads, virus protection and site. Once I no longer had ads the perk of being a member all my issues went away. Been a member for a while now and it came down to the 17 cents a day was money well spent. Just my take on it knowing already I enjoy it here.
I agree. 17 cents for so much fun.....

I agree if Ads are the way that sites like these that bring us all enjoyment then there should not be allowed to have Ad Blockers on the site or the member gets a premium membership. The administrators and Moderators work hard to keep this site top notch so I don't think members should find ways to Block Ads unless it is the appropriate route. I was given an alternative solution to fix my issue on here by the Administrator by disabling Chrome Flash and it worked. I am just too new here to commit a Premium Membership just yet. I will probably do it down the road though.
We are retired, and try to watch our pennies. Got the membership, and I'm so glad I did. Chit chat is the best!

Well I work in Retail so my job doesn't pay a great amount and my Hubby has a decent paying job, but he has had to work his way up to where he is at to get what he has got now. So we do watch our money. I will most likely get it at some point though, but we just got back from a vacation to Vero Beach and I am not even going to ask to even add a $5 a month expense just yet.

Hubby had a horrible time with it, when he first installed, maybe he will tell me how to avoid problems. Thanks for your perspective. I'm open to trying new things.
The UI can be a bit of shock if you jump straight into it from 7, that is true. But, it's leaps and bounds above the 8x Metro interface (even though that still exists).

Just get used to asking cortana to do stuff for you and life is pretty easy. Under the hood, most of it is actually pretty much the same as 7 (in terms of admin utilities, etc...the control panel options are still there).

I understand, hubby got burned out, and quit his job at 64, not full retirement age, of 66 for us. He does a small amount of part time work. That helps.
