23 Gold Medals and I think 28 total Medals overall is incredible.most condecorated man in the story of olympics. Something I dont think will be easy to break.
The weird thing is my laptop runs perfectly fine on all the other sites I go to on the Internet. It is only this site. I am truly enjoying this site and I will use my phone if I have to post on here. I don't know if I'll jump into the membership quite yet since I haven't even been here 24 hours but I could in the future. I use Avast Antivirus and Malwarebytes. Many of us had issues with the site about a year ago. My DD said it had something to do with the Ads and my laptop as it didn't have the same issues with my iPhone or my tablet. See if you enjoy your time with the site (I genuinely enjoy my time here.) I opted to go for the Premium Membership that solved my problems with the site, have no regrets. It was $5 a month. Well worth the entertainment for me. Others resolved their issues with the site with the membership, no guarantees obviously but it helped many of us. Others have not had problems while others did, it is strange but so far beyond my computer skills to figure out.
Curious what virus protection are you running?
I will share my computer issue there today. Thank You.You may want to share your computer difficulties in the Forum Help and Announcements thread as well. That way, Steve will see these and may be able to offer solutions, or other users may also be able to help. He's suggested this in the past when people are having forum computer issues, as he doesn't have time to read all the various forum threads; but if people post in the Forum Help and Announcements thread, he can devote resources to that.
Aside of sharing the above (which will reach a larger forum audience), Cesar RM on Chit Chat here is wonderful and has shared tips with many of us when we're having difficulties.
I've had a couple of poolside drinks. The bartenders looked like they only half cared.I have never been carded at Disney World-ever, even when I was very young. Go Figure. When in college I could drink there like in Illinois at age 19 back then. And when I was 19 I looked like 15. Much like my DD does now. Though she did get carded at the Tune In Lounge
that is definitively strange, kind of reminds me of the issues i have with javascript using firefox on certain sites. It sluggs so bad it can freeze the browser a lot.The problem is that it happens on more then just WDWmagic. It happens on DIS as well, but, it is primarily just those two. I have noticed recently that if I am on a different site (not discussion) and I attempt to look at a referred site within that location it will freeze up instantly. I cannot search for information on legitimate subjects because it stops me cold and I have to close whatever site I am on. Sometimes that will work, but, it doesn't always and is a huge pain in the butt at best.
Exactly. I have to use Ctlr, Alt, Delete to get out of the page I'm on, click on Task Manager, close Firefox and sign back on. That sometimes fixes it for most of the evening, but, not always. There must be something inside that is blocking it, a virus or whatever, but, according to what Window 10 told me they have a new, highly effective, virus blocker as part of "10". I currently do not have an outside protection. I had Kasperski's but had to delete it because I was getting basically the same problem because of them. Once I deleted Kasperski that problem went away.that is definitively strange, kind of reminds me of the issues i have with javascript using firefox on certain sites. this happens only on websites like tumblr or my bank.
in some extreme cases i even have to shut down the browser and restart.
It must be the youthful glow that being at Disney gives you.I've had to show mine at a bunch of places
I was having trouble, too. Then @Cesar R M recommended an ad blocker, and it is all better! It's not just one thing. I am having that same problem and it started right after I involuntarily switched over to Windows 10. It happens mostly on this site, but, it seems to be a problem with any discussion forum I go on. Most everything else works just fine. I have tried using Firefox and Chrome and I have problems with both, but, like I said, almost always on Discussion boards.
Im pretty sure that there is something wrong in certain versions of firefox. the java engine is very slow in firefox under certain circumstances.Exactly. wdwmagic just replied to my message in the forum help thread about the issue. They said to disable the Flash in Chrome. So I did and I will see if that works. So far it is not freezing up but the screen keeps flipping to the top of the page now while I am posting. Very frustrating.that is definitively strange, kind of reminds me of the issues i have with javascript using firefox on certain sites. It sluggs so bad it can freeze the browser a lot.

you could also just use an extension called FLASHBLOCK.wdwmagic just replied to my message in the forum help thread about the issue. They said to disable the Flash in Chrome. The issue seems to be fixed for the time being. Keeping my fingers crossed.you could also just use an extension called FLASHBLOCK.
it will block flash only on the sites you want.
The resolution the wdwmagic gave me by disabling Chrome Flash has seemed to work so far.I'm in the same situation. It is only here I had those issues. My DD who gets far more computer things than I do believes it is the triangle between the ads, virus protection and site. Once I no longer had ads the perk of being a member all my issues went away. Been a member for a while now and it came down to the 17 cents a day was money well spent. Just my take on it knowing already I enjoy it here.

I agree if Ads are the way that sites like these that bring us all enjoyment then there should not be allowed to have Ad Blockers on the site or the member gets a premium membership. The administrators and Moderators work hard to keep this site top notch so I don't think members should find ways to Block Ads unless it is the appropriate route. I was given an alternative solution to fix my issue on here by the Administrator by disabling Chrome Flash and it worked. I am just too new here to commit a Premium Membership just yet. I will probably do it down the road though.Double edge sword there. It is the ads that make it possible to pay for the site unless everyone went to Premium Memberships.
But did you see owners of websites are having their fill of Ad blockers? Facebook I believe this week BLOCKED Ad Blockers. A sign of things to come.
Register on WDWMAGIC. This sidebar will go away, and you'll see fewer ads.
