My Dad is much more the emotional one so I see him breaking down and then that will lead to my Mom and Me. My boyfriend will be entering his Junior year at the University of Virginia. So I have already had the adjustment of him going off to college and leaving me back in High School for months.
Speaking as a Dad; that's because you're his baby girl and you always will be!

We walked up to Plaza today and had lunch. And here are my thoughts (Note: it's been a while since I've eatten there)

We got there at 11:30. We were told it was a 30-45 minute wait. They text you when your table is ready (pagers are also available) and you have to come back within 15 minutes of receiving the text. If you change your mind, you just text them back. 30 minutes was an overstatement. It was more like 5 minutes. When we left at 12:30, there were empty tables.

We just did entrees (no appetizers, no dessert). My parents had the Plaza Club, which was plenty for them. I had the Chicken Sandwich, which was very good. My brother had the kids grilled chicken strips (not breaded) and liked them.

There were too few fries, and they downed the quality of the fries. They were fine, but nothing spectacular.

Bottom line: the food is good, and it was nice to take a break from the park for a while, but not worth going out of your way for.

Dunkin hater here (we have way too many). Their coffee is way too watery.

I brought 18 doughnuts (not Dunkin) into work today and they all went and there was around 7 people off today. A girl brings 12 Dunkin doughnuts into work and barely half goes.
I agree the doughnuts are not that great, but I do like the coffee. I much prefer a local bakeries doughnuts.

Walt tends to have the same baby sitters if we are gone or if I just need someone to let him out midday. The day my Dad passed we all left with backpacks stuffed, not knowing how long we'd be gone. The sheriff let him out and walked him during the day. Walt knows what suitcases mean and he always becomes sad. So when we were home by evening he actually looked stunned that it was us that came around the corner.

So the sheriff let him out for you? How did you manage that? Or is it someone you are friends with? I don't think the cops around here do that.

Okay, I might have missed something but did you tell us that you were going to WDW (not that you have to). I just feel like I missed an important announcement. Hope you are having fun!

The announcement happened when I posted a picture of the castle this morning.

I thought someone would question me when I was posting at 5 am and said I was in line for Starbucks given you all know I'm not a morning person, but no one questioned.

I wondered why you were getting coffee so early, I just thought it was some part of your internship or something. And when I saw the castle picture I wondered but you hadn't said anything. I thought maybe it was something in the picture you thought was nice and I was missing something. I just thought I was being slow (I did have some Baileys in my coffee this morning), but your were being sneaky!! ;) I hope you have a good time, how long will you be there?

I wish that we could have done more character meals on our vacation, but the prices are just through the roof. So except for two character/special/birthday meals, we are just winging it the rest of the time. Gives me/us a chance to eat at some Quick Service places that I have not done before. Also, maybe I will finally get over to AOA, and eat in their food court. This will be my 4th time staying at Pop. The 1st time AOA wasn't there, but the last two times, I visited AOA, but I did not eat there. I want to do that on this trip. Our trip is not overplayed, so we should have a lot of opportunities to do that.

We stayed in a Cars family suite at AoA on our July of '12 trip (the same trip oldest DD was proposed to in front of Cinderella Castle on her 21st birthday ), and loved the resort. The Finding Nemo and Cars sections (the Cars section opened about 2 weeks before our trip) were the only ones open at the time. I was a Disney CM at our local Disney Store at the time, so we got a 60% discount. The food court was great!
Although we only ate at the Landscspe of Flavors food court once during that trip, everyone (there were 13 of us on that trip) loved what they had. I had the Surf and Surf Burger (a crab cake with fried shrimp on top sandwich), and it was VERY good...!!! :hungry:
Not sure what it's like now, but, it was a great place to eat the one time we ate there on that trip.
Only reason we didn't eat there anymore on that trip was 'cause I also had a 50% CM discount on the DDP, so we were too stuffed from everywhere else...!!! :hilarious: ;) :)
