I like beer cheese soup but that wouldn't be good for you. :(

I was just thinking about beer cheese soup today, it sounded really good despite the 90 degree temp and humidity we are having today. We brought home some sourdough Boudin bread from California Adventure and that would pair so well with the soup. (But the bread is in the freezer and hubby would throw a fit if I tried to feed him soup in this hot weather!)

@Gabe1 I am in the market for some good pillows, and I remembered that you were really in love with your pillows so I went back and found the link you posted about them. I also saw that you said that you had four of them. So this may sound silly but do you use all four of them when you sleep or just to relax? I'm a 1-2 pillow girl so I don't want to get something that is really thin.

I have 2 for bed pillows and the other two are in white cotton knit pillow shams. (I like to bleach bedding) The knit makes the pillows still squishy and soft. I play with my laptop in bed frequently and start out using all 4 pillow. When I actually go to sleep I ditch the two in the shams and sleep with the other two. I have the standard size pillows as I find the center core stays put better than the king.

If you want to try them out the next time you and hubby take a little road trip stay at a Hampton Inn, that is where we discovered I love for these pillows. And I am a bad influence. My DD has four on her bed too but when she was in a dorm she only had 2.

Guy Fieri has been working on his SmokeHouse for Carnival Cruise Line.

Now Guy is professing his love of Vegetables and has started writing a cookbook. Does he see a new market for his career or did his bloodwork come back and say lay off the pork dude?

Wow, times have really changed. When I was in kindergarten, there were 26 letters in the alphabet.

And so we begin to understand why administration has started approving teacher communications.

I'm not a big fan of NCLB however it did have a few merits. Teachers passing the basic skills test was one element I applauded. Too bad there was not a way for it to be retroactive.

Interesting. Michael Phelps is to be the Flag Bearer for the Opening Ceremonies at Rio Olympics.

He is a well decorated olympian. He is also quite the colorful gentleman. Grabs headlines on
soooooooo many levels.
I'm not familiar with him. Will check out info. I can't wait for opening ceremonies. I like the summer Olympic's for the diving. I never had the nerve to go off more than the small diving board. I love to see the skill of the diver's. I lived in Indiana when Mark Spitz won so many medals. He was an I.U. student just before me.

I am so envious, I love Boudin Sourdough bread. I remember buying a whole loaf with butter and eating the whole thing , while flying to Hawaii. Hubby still laughs about this. Next year I hope to spend time in California, just to get Boudin bread. I may bring several loaves home, and put in the freezer. I can't resist the stuff!

Probably older age. It hits many people. I remember when I was told of high blood pressure, and diabetes. It's a shock to the system. Both parent's had high blood pressure, Mom was diabetic. It's the genes you get. I've never been a big meat eater, and I have high cholesterol. Dad died from heart disease , he had low cholesterol. Doctor say's it's the gene's that get us. I believe that. I've altered my diet, low sugar, no dairy, little meat. My number's keep going up and up. Except for not eating, I don't have any other idea's.

Scary. Our daughter had a teacher, that fell out of his chair almost every day. I think he was high, or drunk. He kept his job for the entire year. So many people complained, including me. They fired him at the end of the year. Why did they wait so long? It was apparent, after the first month that something wasn't right about this guy. That was in Kansas, many years ago.

Legally it is very difficult to dismiss a teacher after year 2 harder after finishing year 3. If admin doesn't like a teacher easiest to do after year one when they are almost an at will professional. There are so many steps and checks/balances. And I support the procedure even though it is frustrating at times. As in your example it is equally important to not dismiss an employee that might be privately struggling with MS or had a minor stroke. Times have changed too, parents and other staff have to be very cautious about the nature of their complains as does teachers with students and parents. Slander suits really pinch so everyone has to be able to back up their statements not just hearsay.

I've seen people get all up in arms when we place staff, any staff on PAID administrative leave. Depending on the circumstances and if we are really ferreting out the truth or just dotting our i's and crossing the t's is what we do with them staff. Some are not to step foot on property or interact with school in any way or if it is likely they are coming back once the dust settles we give them a project in the Admin Center. PAID leave is a very good legal tool and costs very little and prevents the district from possibly being sued for overall a small sum of money.

Just so you know, you can order Boudin bread online too. They even have a bread club in which they send you breads every month, I looked into as a present for my dad but then I determined he probably wouldn't eat that much bread by himself each month.

Whatever he is uncovering/covering looks a little disgusting.

Oh and thanks for the pillow help, but I think I will have to pass on those ones. I didn't realize they have down/feathers in them. I can't handle, a little bit of an allergy.

He won 22 medals, 18 of them gold. His Olympic teammates voted him in to carry the flag. He's 31 now, and hopefully, has moved beyond some personal issues he was batting some years ago.
