I've planned and packed everything except.......... I have no clue what to do with my nails tomorrow. I'm getting them done with a pink gel polish but I still haven't settled on a design. I want a Disney design of some type but the party pooper better known as my dh says that may be just a bit over the top. Is there such a thing? he said they might be just a bit out of place at UNI. :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:
Go with what you like. Don't let other people judge. Be yourself.

My husband is turning 70 at the beginning of December, and he will finally be collecting his Social Security. He has been working from home for about 18 months, and he really enjoys it. So he's going to continue doing that as long as he is able, and the company wants him. It will be nice having the extra money. I have been getting Social Security on my husband's record for several years now. I didn't have any benefits of my own, because I haven't had to work my whole married life. Lucky me. I don't know how couples do it today where both of them must have jobs to make ends meet. It is definitely a different world we live in.
I worked to put my hubby through college, then I went back for night classes, daughter was young. It was a struggle, and took me many years. Now, hubby retired early, he hated the extreme stress, but he does a little free lance work from home. It's coming to an end....so I see less trips to Disney, for him and me to Disney, it's just getting too expensive. We all have different lives on here, old or young. I started taking Social Security 2 years ago. In August, we will be taking hubby's as his is larger. The difference in pay between men and women, and so it goes.

My mailbox is at the bottom of our drive, a bit of a walk from the house. I told my daughter when I get older I want a golf cart so I can drive to get the mail. :joyfull:

Both sets of my grandparents lived on 200+ acre farms, so they always drove out to the main road (the main road was a dirt road for my mothers folks) to get the mail.
We, on the other hand, only hafta' walk about 40 feet. ;)

Crazy times in Germany. @donaldtoo I hope your daughter is safe everywhere she goes on her trip.

Woof. My apologies. Only about a week late with this reply.
Anyway, thanks! :)
Can't help but be a bit worried with all the carp going on in the world lately, but, they are safely back in Brittas Bay, Ireland, and are scheduled to arrive back here in Austin a little before midnight on Sunday.
Her snap stories have really been keeping us up to date, and entertained at the same time. She absolutely loves it there.
Probably won't be too long before we plan a family trip to Europe...! :)

Finished buying school supplies today. At least with them starting so early my daughter can still wear her summer clothes for awhile. The next three weeks will fly by quickly!
It will move quickly, little time with the grand kids after school starts. Oldest is in 8th grade, doing advanced classes. The youngest in the 5th grade and a different school. Makes it hard sometimes to catch each kids activities. We try to balance it out.

My husband and I are going grocery shopping as soon as he gets off of work at 4 p.m. We normally only need to shop together once a month. I need to remind my grandson, who lives in our attic, to be on standby to help us carry stuff in when we return in a few hours. I have a long list today. I always shop with a list. My husband just keeps all his list in his head, and he rarely ever forgets anything. I rarely buy anything extra besides what's on my list. Grocery shopping isn't my favorite chore, since everything costs so much. No, I don't use coupons. I can never find any for the stuff we use/eat. My husband sometimes heads to Target between shopping trips, and picks up stuff that we may end up needing before our big shopping day/trip comes around again.
I'm not a fan of grocery shopping. So many things, I can't eat. Mostly stay in frozen or fresh, and a little meat. I found the best "bread" ever...it's only 8 calories a slice...of course it's one inch by one inch!. Canape bread. I need to cut down on carb's so it will work for me!

That is early. I thought we had it bad or good depending on your point of view.

Ours are in the classroom August 16th. Joy Joy They have gone back as early as the 12th. Depends on how the weeks fall. Works out well cause our college students go back to school and pools and park programs stop because of staffing issues. And in the Spring the pools open early 'cause the college students are back. Students are out the last days of May or the first few of June.

Thanks for the offer, but I now only have about two weeks to get one kid ready for school, and the other ready to be dropped off at college . I lost a week due to a family vacation up north to the UP. (That would be the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.) That is about as opposite of WDW as you could get.:jawdrop:
Our grand kids start on August 10th. Where did the summer go?

In other news, I had a fury filled morning.
Mother wakes me, angry because "I didnt woke up in time" and im like.. "in time for what?"
"for you to drive me to the bus station" GEE MOM, THANKS FOR TELLING ME YESTERDAY!

So finally hurry to get a quick shower.. get out, get shoes and everything ready.. wait by the door.. and wait.. and wait.. and my mother doesnt come down.. go try to find her and shout about time.. She complains that she is in the bathroom.
She was in the bathroom herself and took 45 minutes to get ready. GEEE MOMMMMM
So much for complaining how "I take too long". :banghead:

So, we finally get to the car, we drive.. and halfway there.. "I FORGOT MY BUS PASS" ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
:banghead::banghead:

So off we return.
Pass a lot of traffic and leave her on the bus station.
Mere 15 minutes later I receive a message "I forgot my reading glasses" .

Uo3wfw7.gif

But she doesn't only messages me. She calls me, calls the cleaning lady and hurries me to get there.
So I had to run at over the speed limit, hope the goodarn transit police didn't get near me.
Deliver the goodarn glasses and back home.

I swear I was expecting something worse later like " I forgot my wallet" or something like that...

Sympathy like, but, also a hilarity like...!!! :hilarious:  ;)

Proud of you. :)

I don't put corn on grill or leave in husk while cooking. It is just me but I don't like peeling of the husk and silk while they are that hot, I am a whimp. I just blanch the corn, heavily roll it through a stick of butter and sometimes a tiny bit of garlic salt. Then I am in heaven. :hungry:
I put a heavy load of butter on bread, then run the corn over it (the bread), I get two treats!

Haven't even started.

IKEA, Target and Bed Bath were our haunts for college dorm rooms. I was masterful in 'this small space' creating maximum storage for my kids via IKEA & BB&B. If you are going to add storage think cube shelves that are tall. We did a great deal floor to ceiling and raising the bed without bunking it for storage.

I should have taken out stock in 3M for the amount of hooks I purchased too.
