A little background material on me.

My name is Barbara Ann, hence the BA in my username. I tried getting Barbaraann, but it was taken. I wonder if that could have been me years ago, when I first discovered Disney websites, and I just forgot my log in info.

I married to the same man for 50 years. I have two boys, and a 23 year old grandson.

I have been to Disney World about 10 times, and Disneyland about 10 times. All of my trips have averaged about a week. Some shorter, and a few glorious ones longer. I prefer the longer ones, of course. I prefer Disneyland over WDW by the way, although always have fun no matter what. My motto is "If you don't have fun on your vacation, than it's your own fault".

I have lived in Chicago my whole lot, and don't plan on ever living anywhere else. I come from a family of 6, but it's just me and my sister now, Mom, Dad, and my 2 brothers are all deceased now. I root for all Chicago teams, but prefer the Cubs over the White Sox.

Now you know me a little better. Basically, I am a shy person, but I speak up when I feel it matters to be heard.

I love this thread, and this site gives me a different perspective on things for sure. I have posted the past 11 years mostly on one other site, but needed a change. I'm loving the change.
We are now a club of three...over 65 years old. You, me, and @Goofyernmost.

My husband is turning 70 at the beginning of December, and he will finally be collecting his Social Security. He has been working from home for about 18 months, and he really enjoys it. So he's going to continue doing that as long as he is able, and the company wants him. It will be nice having the extra money. I have been getting Social Security on my husband's record for several years now. I didn't have any benefits of my own, because I haven't had to work my whole married life. Lucky me. I don't know how couples do it today where both of them must have jobs to make ends meet. It is definitely a different world we live in.

I've planned and packed everything except.......... I have no clue what to do with my nails tomorrow. I'm getting them done with a pink gel polish but I still haven't settled on a design. I want a Disney design of some type but the party pooper better known as my dh says that may be just a bit over the top. Is there such a thing? he said they might be just a bit out of place at UNI. :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

My husband does not go to Disney with me. However, he encourages me to go as often as we can afford it. He went once. Our grandson was 4, and the 3 of us stayed at the Polynesian. I turned 50 that trip. That trip got me hooked. The castle was a cake. My grandson remembers that part well. My next trip was in 2003, and I've gone as much as I can since. My first Disneyland trip happened for the 50th celebration, and that hooked me big time to California, and their parks.

I am a lite eater, and so when I look at the prices of meals, it makes me cringe. There's always way too much food at the table service places. My last trip, we did a lot of quick service places, and ordered kids meals. It was perfect. Same at the Pop Food Court. I want to try the AOA food court as well. I know they have different things on their menus.

My husband and I are going grocery shopping as soon as he gets off of work at 4 p.m. We normally only need to shop together once a month. I need to remind my grandson, who lives in our attic, to be on standby to help us carry stuff in when we return in a few hours. I have a long list today. I always shop with a list. My husband just keeps all his list in his head, and he rarely ever forgets anything. I rarely buy anything extra besides what's on my list. Grocery shopping isn't my favorite chore, since everything costs so much. No, I don't use coupons. I can never find any for the stuff we use/eat. My husband sometimes heads to Target between shopping trips, and picks up stuff that we may end up needing before our big shopping day/trip comes around again.

Thank you my friend. BTW we still have a spare bed:)
Thanks for the offer, but I now only have about two weeks to get one kid ready for school, and the other ready to be dropped off at college . I lost a week due to a family vacation up north to the UP. (That would be the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.) That is about as opposite of WDW as you could get.:jawdrop:
