DWifey was in charge of both the concessions and the Girl Scout cookies. Of course she always asked other parents to volunteer for both, but, if they said no, then it was no (although we had many that did volunteer). They were never guilt-tripped or told they were negative if they didn't volunteer. We realized that everyone had different lives, job schedules, etc.
And, she herself was never guilt-tripped into heading those things up. We just always felt that whatever our kiddos were involved in we should be involved in it with them, as much as was possible. But, there was definitely not any how dare you or questioning of anyone's parenting skills. It's just not the way we roll.
We did the same, with our daughter, and now the grandson's.

I think he just caved in. I said I was going so his stomach is going to follow me:D
I understand that, sometimes, hubby gets up before me. He sits with coffee cup in his hand , drinking away. I come in...He always asks, what are you (me) fixing for breakfast. He claims he can't cook. I know for a fact that he helped his mom with the cooking. He just doesn't want to cook at all. So, sometimes, I say....where are you going to bring back breakfast?

My dh works magic with the smoker and can grill but other than that he doesn't cook.

I never found any headbands in the store to catch the perspiration that just pours off of me when the temps reach 90. However, I did go to Famous Footwear, and I bought myself a pair of sandals for around the house, and a pair of Ryka running shoes. They do do a better job of supporting my ankle.
I love my Ryka's. They fit me perfectly!

I finally mowed the grass. It doesn't take too long, and I have a mulching mower, so that cuts way back on the work involved. My yard looks less and less like a jungle now. Although, I am regretting the decision I made many weeks ago to have the gardener, I hired for a small job, dump the excess dirt on my grass. Now I have multiple bare spots all over the yard. We haven't had enough rain. If/when my foot becomes totally better, I need to turn the dirt over, and plant some grass seed. However, for now, it looks a whole lot better out there. I am thankful that I only have a very small patch of grass compared to many people's homes.
I took all my grass out about 20 years ago, and put in greenery, and rocks. I'm so glad I did that. We do live in the Rockies!
