I'm so excited for you.
Thank you I only had ears on for 15 minutes today. I can't wait for tomorrow and I have the house to myself for 2 days so everything will be in order. Last big cooking before we leave is happening now. I have a turkey roaster full past the brim of sausage peppers, onions and potatoes on the grill:joyfull:. I have enough mac and cheese, burgers and fried rice to hold us through Friday. I have 2 enormous heads of cauliflower that will need my attention in a bit.

Our HS marching band does a big trip every other year. DS was lucky enough to march at WDW and the Outback bowl one year, and this past New Year's was New Orleans and the Sugar Bowl. This was the first time there was a Sugar Bowl parade, so that is pretty special. Next trip, DD will be going. I am really hoping for Disney!
Sending some pixie dust in hopes you get to go!

a few evenings ago, we took DD to our town square which is a hot spot. I was very amused to see about a dozen young adults marching in a line, one behind the other, on the hunt. The older folk try to hide it, but DD and I just have a good giggle.

During the week one evening I was coming back from my DD apartment about to cross an intersection to which I had the right away, 25mph residential. On the corner to my left is hedges that kinda block site line but they have a stop sign. I tend to drive like a turtle. People call me the right lane hugger on expressways.

So as I'm approaching the intersection I catch something out of the corner of my eye through the branches of the hedges seeming to be on the sidewalk moving towards the intersection quickly and I hit the brakes. A young boy with with phone in hand runs through the parkway portion of the sidewalk across 3/4 of the intersection before he looks up to see he his standing before the hood of my truck and stops like deer in the headlight stops. He just realized what he had done. Meanwhile his friends are on the parallel sidewalk from the one he used catching up to him and they too just run into the street without looking left for cars coming in the opposite direction, I layed on the horn to warn the oncoming car...he looked unnerved cause he had no way of seeing them at the speed they rain into the street. I've seen a lot of people playing this game in our town but this was the first time I ever saw STUPID.

Wonder if the heat and humidity of this heat event we have going here has slowed participation in the game?

Too funny. Sounds like you could use a glass of wine.

Yes I could use a glass a wine but I fear I'd then need a nap. The humidity here is zapping my energy level.

Sent my DD to WaterPark job with my truck again this afternoon. She held Guard Games at her facility early this morning and then had to return for a managing shift 2 hours later. She wasn't looking so good already can only imagine what she will look like 9 hours from now.

Sympathy like. I love this weather. I'm good until it hits about 105. I had a great time in DC during a heat wave, my friends not so much.

I can't remember it being this humid with high dew points in a long time-this many days. The windows are dripping with water and my glasses when I go outside fog up. Even when I got out of my Truck at Sam's Club they fogged up. It is to drop down to upper 80's next week and I am hoping less humidity. Last night after the first rain moved through it dropped over 20 degrees and a cool wind picked up the 72 degrees felt so nice. I took Walt for a nice walk before we headed to the CheeseCake Factory.

It's official my dh is in a Disney mood. we're doing the monorail shop hop and crawl check in day and he finally asked what that is and got excited when i told him what we're doing where. Well he's excited for everything except Basin that just scares him:D

If you can fit it into your crawl, stop into trader Sam's. It is so cool inside and relaxing. Not to mention fun tiki drinks!

Ok going into airport mode. Taking off soon, I have to finish my coffee and baileys! Hubby is having a rum and coke.

Thanks. I'm not really sure what is up with my Mom. We were seeing it long before my Dad got ill this winter. Sometimes I don't think she stops to think and other times I have found she greatly embellished stories. She has strangely become obsessed with everyone on the face of the earth life. Now gossip seems to be her go to conversations though I've even found those to be embellished. Other times I hear her retell stories that are flat out wrong and if you try and correct she gets angry. Still she balances her checkbook, pays her bills, takes care of herself and dresses nicely and eats just fine. I just need to give this a little time to See if she settles down and finds a more calm pattern to her daily routines and interests. Time will tell. My Sis on the other hand doesn't recognize any of this and believes I'm flat out wrong.

Sounds like she's doing o.k. in some aspects of her life, and that's a good thing. See how she's progressing in another month or so. She's just been through a major trauma, and it may take additional time for things to fall back into place for her--not everything will be right again, but I'm assuming that she might improve a bit as time goes on. Sometimes, a senior counselor can also be helpful, but the biggest hurdle with that suggestion is trying to convince your mother that it may be comforting to speak about her feelings, over the loss of her husband, with an objective person--just for the time being. (That's the best way to approach that--rather than saying it's permanent.) My own mother did that for a while (with a referral from her regular doctor), and it seemed to calm her nerves.
