I love pancakes with anything in them. I'll have to try this. Sounds really good! One thing I love is fresh zucchini. I love making zucchini pancakes with a nice ripe tomato on top.

I love Jack, he is a character, just like Freddy. Good ol' boy!Hubs was out walking him yesterday, and Jack was in the mood for sitting at the edge of the sidewalk, before they crossed the street. A woman was walking nearby and said to hubs, "Oh, isn't he a well trained dog!" Hubs burst out laughing . . .![]()

I recently completed a rather lengthy essay (42,000 words) for my children and grand children focusing on my adventures in travel. I titled it... What is a queue and why do I have to stand in it? The first part tells the tales of many road trips that I experienced with my camping loving father. The problem was that he had no luck at all. Murphy's law followed him wherever he went. It was a comedy of problems, errors and unexpected event that range from being flooded out of our tent, to my mother being pinned between two parked and empty cars, to auto problems, to near asphyxiation of our whole family. Some of these were on the same camping trip. I tried to do it with humor, because as I have said and believe... what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger, but, the just of it was that you could no longer get me to do a camping trip even at gun point, be it road trip or stationary camping site. Road trips are great and I still love them, but, there will be a hotel room at the end of the day, restaurants to eat in and easily available showers on a daily basis.I actually would need a map of these kind of stuff.
so I can travel spot to spot.
I dream that I will sometime do a roadtrip with a camper or something.
Maybe the representant was an hole who only worried about his bonus and not doing his job?I've told this story before, some may not be aware of it. We got really big dents in our car, baseball size hail, broke out the back window. What did the State Farm agent say. Drive our car around a week and see if the dents came out. Of course they didn't , he still wouldn't put in a claim. That was when the agent did this. Anyway it took a letter the the President of State Farm to get our claim paid. Then we cancelled. What kind of service is this? Sister had roof damage due to hail, and again State Farm wouldn't pay. She also wrote the President, and then cancelled. This happened 25 years later. They still try to avoid paying. Not so Allstate, they were very fair when we lost our roof due to hail a few years ago. They have always been more than fair. Of course, we have only had one roof claim. I hope we don't have another.
Camping was good to us. I've related this story before, but for new folks....here it goes. We were going to camp in the big Thompson Canyon. That's when a 35 foot wall of water came down the canyon and killed a lot of people. We had camped the night before, and was heading to this canyon. I dropped the crank down the side of a 500 ft mountain. There was no going down to get it. So we drove back to Denver to buy another one. I was kicking my self for being so clumsy. Turns out, if we hadn't had the delay...we would have been in the Big Thompson with our 5 year old daughter. And probably would have drowned. I think about this every time we drive through this canyon today. It was made much larger since that flood, but those narrow canyons can be a death trap. We carefully check the weather before driving in the canyons.I recently completed a rather lengthy essay (42,000 words) for my children and grand children focusing on my adventures in travel. Most of it is pretty upbeat because I will guarantee you that after I grew up, with the exception of two small attempts at camping again, with equally disastrous results, the word camping was never uttered in my presence again. The queue part comes in about a third of the way in with our first trip to WDW and subsequent other trips along the way. None had the laughable results of the early camping trips, but, they always had an interesting moment or two.
It was obvious he didn't want us to get a claim paid. I don't know why. They tried to get us to change to their insurance when we moved out here. I told the guy what happened, and they have never called back, as I told them it would be a cold day in hades before I would go with them.Maybe the representant was an hole who only worried about his bonus and not doing his job?
or even a different representant did the same?
Hi y'all!
At my local grocery, we pay anywhere from $1 to $1.50 per avacado. Sometimes, we will see them for .75 each, but they are usually very small, and mostly pit.
So, last night was great. I didn't get pictures of everything, but here are a few. We started with a chicken quesadilla and a plate of fried pickles. Turns out, I like Fried Pickles.
I ordered a Pot O'Gold Burger. White sharp cheddar, bacon, beer braised onion, and house BBQ sauce.

Very good, and very messy. It was a good thing I asked for the BBQ sauce on the side. Hand cut fries.
The restaurant has a balcony, where you can sit and watch the band. Not quite as loud as on the main floor.

And yes, the place is called Durty Nellie's. And yes, I assure you for Jazz Sunday, it is a family venue. The band sounded great! They played a great version of "Summertime", and another one, that you might not recognize from the bit I got. So here it is by a slightly more famous band.
There have been some days mostly in my younger days when I would come in at 3 AM. I'm no longer like that though. When a show is over I get my stuff done and out the backdoor I go to the nearest taxi cab to home and then to my bed.You will love it here then. Wish I could stay up later, but I wake up every morning at 3AM. That's when I took my doggies outside to do their business at night. After 30 years of that, I naturally wake up, and watch TV for an hour, then go back to sleep. I'm too lazy and cold to get of bed at that time. I need the sun to come up and warm up the house. The mountains get very cool at night, even in the summer.
It is a beautiful state, especially in summer. Winters, that's another story!
You basically cut up the zucchini into chunks and then place the chunks into a food processor. Spin the zucchini to a cole slaw consistency. Then take you flour mix and add seasoning and put them in a frying pan with oil and fry them. Once they get nice and brown on the outside all over pull them out and dab all the excess oil off. Sprinkle a pinch of salt on them and slice a tomato and put it on top of each of them. Very tasty.I love pancakes with anything in them. I'll have to try this. Sounds really good!
incredibly expensive then.About the same 'round here. A little less, but, not much.
You two seem to think that I have "planned" things??!!Think back to my WDW trip last May--how much planning happened during that trip? (not much!)
The only definite is tomorrow when we go to a Native American pow wow--we always go to a few of these each year and really enjoy these events, and the people we meet there.
I know at least one day is for getting my hair done and getting a pair of glasses fixed. So that leave 4 days and we'll see what happens. Weather may affect our day trip decisions as well.
You have to "meet @BuddyThomas, he is in theater too. You probably have a lot in common. He is a playwrite, and very funny! There have been some days mostly in my younger days when I would come in at 3 AM. I'm no longer like that though. I made chili today and thought of you, as we got some angus beef at the store, it's so good!Howdy, Betty Rose...!![]()
The only thing I like to do in the mountains in the winter, is sit in a lodge by a big roaring fire, while watching the skiers come down the mountain, while sipping hot buttered rum. My day of "skiing" . Another story for newbies....hubby and I moved out here and thought skiing sounded fun. We never took lessons, put on the ski's and went up the bunny hill. Hubby ran into all the skis at the bottom of the hill. Dozens of them fell over. I took off my skis and pretended I didn't know him.Hahaaa...!
I actually thought it was quite beautiful when DWifey and I went on a ski trip to Avon/Beaver Creek back in the winter of '89...!![]()
Just tell her to watch out for our old friend there LOL At least @Mr Ferret 88 is safely down in Goinsey. Tell her to have lots of fun from me!
