Sympathy like. Yuck and dangerous. Glad you made it where you were going safely!
It was awful. I realized yesterday that just eating a Lean Cuisine that has no protein in it (chicken, beef, etc) doesn't hold me for more than about an hour, so I ran to Panera. The problem was I had to run in the middle of the pouring rain because the other HR intern was leaving at 2, and after that, I would be the only person in the office to answer the HR phone calls. So I had to go before she left. It started pouring as I was in the car. I did make it the Panera, got my food, got gas during a lull, and then it started pouring as I headed back to the office. Needless to say, it was not fun, but the French Onion Soup was SO worth it.

or just use a cellphone lol
it automatically changes. :p
Yup, I didn't have to change my phone, but, I did have to change the time zones on my watch. Of course, a phone was useless in the middle of the Atlantic anyway without wifi. There are very few towers out there. Since I didn't use my cell for anything except occasionally sending a few pictures to this page, I never really noticed if it had changed automatically anyway. I'm not even sure that the cruise line specifically changed in the exact time zones anyway, they would just tell you before sleep time to set your clocks back an hour. I'm sure that they just did it so that by the time we got to Florida we would be at the proper time.

My parents liked the saying "jack of all trades master of none".
I know it seems silly, but, that is the mantra that I subscribed too. The fancy word for that is Renaissance Man. I have never wanted to master a single thing to the point of being considered a real expert. My attentions span is way to short for that. I get bored and sick of whatever I am doing fairly quickly. I taught myself how to do a lot of different things. I can do carpentry work, but, I wouldn't hire me to build a house. I can do plumbing, as in repair of whatever is already there. I have done electrical such as wiring up outlets, installing ceiling fans. Done almost all of my own auto repair work until recent years when age and technology caused me to just look at things and scratch my head. I still do minor repairs, like power window repair and headlight assembly replacement, but, everything else is now referred to an expert.

My career alone covers massive areas. I started out, after the service, as the manager of a medium sized variety store. Then I went to graphic arts, designing and creating ads. That became a job as assistant publisher of a weekly advertising paper and General Mgr. of a web printing business. Then I bought and operated an Level 4 Residential Care Home taking care of mentally & physically challenged and elderly residents. Sold that and went into accounting in an Earth Moving Company. Left there and went into Real Estate Sales (bad timing on that one, the bottom fell out of the market just as I switched), took training as a Travel Agent and worked briefly in that. Went back to accounting for an actual construction company. Decided I wanted out of the rat race and learned how to drive a passenger tour bus, got my license. (another bad timing, I got it the three days after 9/11 and tourism stopped). Took a job driving municipal buses for about three years and then was promoted into management which I stayed with until retirement. I consider myself a professional driver, but, never have given myself a expert title for any of the others. I suppose I was at the time, but, didn't carry it on for a lifetime. I made a pretty good living, but, if anyone asks what my career was... the answer is take your pick.
