I'm just going to have to go with someone else. He's such a pain in the neck. I am getting a fairly significant payment from my previous job next Friday and it is burning a hole in my pocket to book a trip to WDW. Argh. What to do.............

If you can't find anyone to go with, solo trips can be fun too. You'll get to do what you want when you want, and you seem like an outgoing person so I'm sure you'd find people to chat.

@Gabe1 , last Monday night, I barbecued hot dogs. Put slices of whole wheat bread (we don't use hot dog buns) on two plates -- 2 slices for hubs, and 1 slice on my plate, on the kitchen table. (Hot dogs were still finishing up on the grill outdoors.) Went upstairs for a few seconds jut to tell hubs that dinner was ready and when I came down, guess what dog STOLE AND ATE THREE slices of whole wheat bread in less than (no exaggeration) 10 seconds??!! :jawdrop: This is a new one even for Jack--whole wheat bread?! He must have inhaled the 3 slices, and he had the incriminating evidence of crumbs all over his goofy face--plus he dragged about a half of the last piece and ran with it--afraid I'd pull it away from him! That dog is very untrustworthy. :cautious:

What a little stinker!! A funny story though!:)

Is that in the Airport? We have a stop in Chicago for several hours...maybe I'll have to get some!

If you fly into Ohare in Chicago there is a Garrett's popcorn there. The cheese popcorn is my favorite. Before I tried their cheese popcorn, I hated it, then I tried this while at my sister-in-laws house (she lives in the Chicago area) and loved it. It really is the only reason I agree to visit the in-laws at Christmas, because I know we will go into downtown Chicago and I can buy some popcorn. I could order it online, but I don't want to open that Pandora's box, I'd probably order it all the time then! Anyway, get a bigger bag than you would normally order because it is so good, you'll be thankful later.

By the way, my husband will be in Chicago in a couple weeks and he has orders to bring back popcorn and deep dish pizza. I told him if he brings those home I will make him scotcheroos (which he loves but I only make occasionally).

Thought I'd share our afternoon project with you all. DD got some iron on paper stuff that you cut out a pattern and you can iron it onto a t-shirt. So we got her an adult sized long tshirt that she can wear as a dress and made a heart-shaped Minnie and then put glow in the dark puff paint around the Edge. She's very excited about it!

Waiting for the magical express to take us back to the airport. :( Going home with some free souvenirs.... While walking down Main Street this morning we were taking it nice and easy. The crush of people had other ideas so I side stepped trying to get out of the way and my toe caught the edge of the sidewalk and down I went right near the confectionary. I was so embarrassed and it hurt so bad. I got up and kept walking, but I have some scrapes on one leg and a skinned right knee. So free souvenirs, ouchies.

It could've been worse. And I was able to shake it off after asking on big thunder, but it still aches. I'm just glad I didn't break anything! I joked with hubby later that I should have said something to a cast member and maybe we would have gotten some extra fast passes!:)
Hate the last day. I would have been crying before the trip and fall incident. After that, I would have been a bawling mess. I don't do too well that last day.

Nope. The local mall. Is your stopover Ohare or Midway?
Ohare. It's actually kind of ridiculous...we go from Amsterdam to Ohare, then from Ohare to Orlando. But, it's Lufthanza, which I understand is operated by United, which is based in Chicago, so that's probably why. But geez...it sure adds on extra hours!! And then they moved up our connecting flight to Orlando and we would only have an hour and 5 minutes to get through customs, etc. Hubby called them and said there was no way we'd make that, so now we have a 4 hour stop there. That ought to be enough time to chow down some popcorn!

Yep, I remember when all we had was one black rotary desk phone in the kitchen.
We usually contacted our friends by either seeing them outside or goin' over and knockin' on their door. ;) :)
It was not so long ago, that I realized that was a key part of my childhood that kids today miss out on. You see, when you knocked on your friends door, there was the possibility that they couldn't come out. Maybe it was supper time, or they had to clean their room. But you were told sorry, and that was it. You had to learn to deal with no, or not now, maybe later. With prearranged dates, kids today miss out on that lesson.

So I did something today that I hope will get me a bonus at the pearly gates. My ex called and asked me to book a trip for him and his other daughter....for Christmas......and would I make all the dining arrangements. Mind you when it was OUR daughter's birthday he didn't do anything. No card, no present, nothing. :bored:

I thought about it and it made me angry to the point my chest hurt so being like pulling off a bandaid, I just did it and don't have to worry about it anymore. Surprisingly I could not get a HoopDeDoo ADR for the days they will be there but I scored an ADR at CRT on Christmas Day. Yep, that's gotta be worth some brownie points.
I can't say what I'm thinking about your ex. He is right up there with Mr. Donkey.

I agree, I had to ask permission to go to my friends house, too.

Thanks! This one was my own design. A couple of weeks ago I tested out another one that I didn't like as much. I did white with a pink tip and put two confetti hearts on where I have the Mickeys now. It was cute, but not as cute as this one. I also have a confetti top coat that looks cute...I just can't decide!!
I have a much easier time deciding what clothes to bring than figuring out a nail design. Clothes I can change but I'll be stuck with the same design for the whole trip.
