I'll have to do some research with hubby, I think he has the itinerary. Which will tell me the day, I remember it was around the noon hour. We watched the singers, then the show, and then had lunch at America. Oh, I remember it was on our free day, that would be a Wednesday. I do know they do a couple shows a day. Not everyday. You can find out the show days and times with an Epcot map, and daily schedule. Get that at the front of the park. The schedule is right there beside the maps. I hope this helps.
Thanks! I knew there was a times guide, but I thought maybe there's a particular day or performance time where they are more likely to do that song, since they change it up all the time. But I'm totally prepared to park it there and just watch every performance until they do it!

But did it warn of Alligators? What I read said the signs said something to the effect of "This area is not for recreational swimming" and you wouldn't necessarily equate that with gators. You might think the water is just dirty...and they weren't "swimming"...so maybe they thought they were ok. It's hard to judge them when we don't know exactly what they were thinking or if they saw the signs. What a horrible lesson to have to learn the hard way.
No alligator warnings, just no swimming , please. The polite language to me could signal they don't want you in the water, not there are alligator's swimming there and it's a danger. I do know about alligator's as we have vacationed in Florida, for many years. I did hear that Disney, used to go out and catch alligator's and large snakes. Looks like the population has risen so quickly, they need more help catching these creature's. They do have a pass from Fish and Wildlife to catch and kill. Florida through conservation, has had to live with the fact they are everywhere now. In the early 70's the gators were almost extinct, and that's why you could swim at Disney lake beach's. Now the state is over run with them. But, I've gone for years, and I've never seen one on property. Sister and husband saw an alligator sleeping in the shade at the resort at Coronado Springs.

I think the increase is caused by the are now being being built everywhere.
I mean.. WDW increased of size exponentially.. hotels everywhere, many parks and water parks.. very little space for wildlife now.

That's part of it, but, they also outlawed hunting gators and since then the population has just grown and grown. That said, I have seen very few on Disney property itself, especially big ones, but, it is Florida and it is a former swamp, it does have wetlands for such preservation so them being there should be pretty common knowledge, I would think. I remember vacationing in Florida in 1962 with my parents. Even then my mother wouldn't let my sister and I swim in a lake in central Florida because of the possibility of Gators. I don't think anyone would expect them to come up on land or that close, but, they are animals and they are programed to hunt, so... anything is possible.

You were lucky that your parents were aware of possible danger, and not letting you or your sister swim in a lake in central Florida. You see, I never heard of anything like that until about 12 or so years ago. Found out when I took a taxi from Daytona down to my hotel at WDW. The driver was great to talk to during the ride.

At one point in the conversation, he was talking about some tourists he saw that were wading in shallow water by a creek, and couldn't understand how stupid they were to do that, with the possibility of gators around. I was embarrassed to tell him that I didn't know that, myself. I explained I came from up North, and knew how to act around moose, bear, snakes, fox, and other critters, but we didn't have any gators. So I think about people who visit WDW from other states or other countries, and might not know about the danger. A sign that says, "No Swimming" may not get the "real" message across. The only thing I know is that I'd never go near their water down there, but more because of the brain-eating amoeba that are sometimes in water in hot areas, and are very dangerous.

Hey y'all, just wanted to pop in to say hi and hope everyone is doing well, especially with all this awful news the past couple of weeks. It definitely puts things in perspective when it comes to the stuff in my own life by realizing it could be so much worse. Having said that, my divorce is still at a standstill with our trial scheduled for September, although I've been told my ex would like to avoid trial due to the cost. However, he still believes that the current custody schedule is in our daughter's best interest, so until he changes his mind, I'm willing to take it to court. I've had to deal with him more lately due to coordinating a summer schedule for our daughter in regard to camps, activities, and vacation time, and it's been a bit bumpy but manageable. He's still acting like a jerk, though. Good news is I get my daughter for a week in August, so I'm taking her up to Seattle, since my dad and my brother and his family live up there, as well as one of my best friends.

I'm also still dating the same guy and we just celebrated our 3-month anniversary on Saturday - woohoo!

Big hugs and kisses to everyone!! xoxo :inlove:

Glad to see you back around, sorry Mr. Donkey is still being a donkey. But I'm glad you have found someone who you are clicking with. What should we call him? Mr. Gentleman?

So heartbreaking...and it sounds like the 4 year old and 18 year old siblings saw it happen too.
I read that this afternoon when I finally had free time to actually read about what happened...you knew that the boy didn't survive, but then reading about his four year old sister...that was when I wanted to cry (but couldn't because I was at work).
