We had one pass just south of us that was only an EF1 but it knocked our power out for a few days. When I was little one was near and I just remember the sky being green.

One of my dad's favorite childhood stories was he and my uncle were at the local theater when one was near and they had to hide under the seats. The movie kept playing and they were more interested in seeing that old western than the tornado that was near. :joyfull:
My dad had a funny and scary story, he was riding his bike with a friend, a small tornado came down picked up the other kid on his bicycle and set him down a few feet down the road. Dad was fascinated about tornado's after that incident.

Sympathy like. I have a needle phobia too. I recently had a CT scan and cried more over needing an IV than the pain I was having.
We have had to get through our fears, we get stuck every 6 month's. Usually 6 vials taken for me, and 6 for hubby, unless a mistake happens. I got stuck in five different places, and the couldn't draw blood, and sent me home and told me to come back a week later. I was none too happy about that.

At least it isn't that bad. Sometimes, little girls can be the worst. She is sharing a dorm room with her bff, and there are some other girls there from school that she is friends with. She seems to be getting through, but is definitely counting the days until this is over.
I hope it gets better for her, and can have a couple good memories to bring home with her.

Was it a real tornado or a dustdevil?
Reminds me of that video of a very strong chinese dustevil that picked up kids in a small stadium. It still baffled me how adults and kids wanted to get IN the dustdevil..

It was reported as a small tornado, but it could have been a dust devil. We were sitting , in our car eating, and saw a dust devil appear and pick up a sofa and throw it in front of our car. That has given us a lot of laugh's over the years! It happened in Arizona.

Just to let you know I'm doing just a little bit better today. I put a planning video in for the boys to keep their spirits up and a few extra kids are going to invade after lunch. I'm kicking them all out to shoot some hoops and get some sewing done. It seems my little angles have done some damage to some of our shopping bags:rolleyes: So no it's not going to be fun sewing, shopping bag and clothing repair day:rolleyes::mad::banghead:
