Discouraging to see this morning that a separate thread in Chit Chat yesterday, created by prberk, (one of our nicest forum members), was removed. He wanted to share the news about Orlando, and posted it a few hours after the incident, yesterday morning. People shared comments in his thread about the senseless tragedy. I shared that I saw on TV, the many people offering to donate blood, and how businesses in the area were providing free water and food to people waiting in long lines. (Even after an evil event, there's always good people that volunteer their help.) A few other members mentioned different opinions about a debate on firearms.

Anyway, I logged out here yesterday around 4:30 p.m., and this morning I noticed the entire thread was removed. Not sure where the thread went after I last saw it yesterday; but obviously, it got derailed enough for it to be deleted by the mods. I only wish that the respectful tone to acknowledge the victims could have been maintained in that original thread, (and other side discussions could have been taken to a different thread, to discuss those only), as I think that was prberk's intent, to just share a thread to express our condolences and/or prayers.

Unfortunately, you are correct. Some people fail to see that responding to a hateful act by using hateful comments - about different religions and political POVs, which is against forum rules - doesn't help the situation or show any sort of compassion for those who were killed.

My grandma-in-law fell in the doorway between her kitchen and screened in porch. She was there about ten hours before someone found her so my sis-in-law moved her into their home. It was the best decision for everyone.
See, this is EXACTLY what I worry about with my dad. He's 83 and lives alone, on a ranch 20 minutes from the nearest town and closer to an hour from the nearest hospital. He had a series of small strokes about 2 years ago and he was really lucky that someone was there to call an ambulance the last time. I've been trying to get him to move at least into town where someone can check on him daily, or where he could call an ambulance if he fell, but he "isn't ready to do that yet". But if he fell or had a heart attack or major stroke at home, he could lie there for DAYS before anyone found him. Stubborn old man!

So do any of you have a favorite Disney attraction? Mine is Splash Mountain. It was my first ride on my very first trip to Disney World in 2005 and I absolutely loved it then and love it even more today. I think it has everything you could want in a Disney attraction: catchy, memorable music, lovable characters, great story, fun thrills, fantastic theming. I think it's going to take something absolutely incredible for it to be topped as my favorite attraction.

I love the characters and I really wish they were more popular and had more merchandise. Br'er Fox is my favorite, I think he has a great character design (all three of them do really) and I find him very funny and charming. I particularly love his laugh! I knew about all of them through Splash Mountain first, but when I got my first iPhone (which was 2010 I think), I watched all of the animated segments of Song of the South on YouTube and couldn't get enough of the three. I didn't really understand the criticisms at the time, I thought that it looked like any other Disney animated film. While I do understand some of the issues people have with the film now, I still don't find anything really offensive about the animated scenes and think that at least those should be rereleased. There's some great music, humor, and animation in those, it's really a shame that so many people will not get to see them. I do wish the whole movie was animated (like I've heard it was originally intended to be), as the animated segments are clearly the best parts, and it would probably be remembered and loved alongside classics like Peter Pan and Cinderella.

I just really want to see more of Br'er Rabbit, Br'er Fox, and Br'er Bear, I think they can and should do much more with them. I think it would be cool if they made a traditionally animated short in front of one of their future films, or even much less possibly, a fully animated film. I would get as hyped as a Star Wars fan if they did that! Being realistic, I wouldn't count on a whole film happening anytime soon, but a short doesn't seem like too much to ask for. I think the characters are more popular than Disney thinks they are and it would be really nice to see them get more love.

Back to Splash Mountain, even after nearly 25 years, it still manages to impress with every ridethrough and never fails to put a smile on my face! It's a true Disney classic and should remain a part of the Magic Kingdom for many years to come.

So what's your favorite attraction? (I apologize for the length).
Most of my favorites are gone now....original Imagination, and the World of Motion were 2 of my favorites, but I do love It's a Small World, cheesy as it is.

I'm a bit of a mess. It seems my poor very old dog is giving up:( I just can't handle her not being herself. Please forgive me if I'm a bit off over the next week or 2, my dh called and said she couldn't even go for her late walk last night:( I'm afraid a decision has to be made soon.:(
I'm so so sorry. Losing a beloved pet is hard, but making the decision when it's the right time, is good for the pet. I got to hold my doggies when they were put to sleep. They gave her a shot, to relieve pain and relax her, then the other shot. It was really as though she just drifted off to sleep.

Star Tours and Tower of Teror. RnRC too. I spend a lot of time at DHS. Also EE.
