My parents used bribery to get me to ride it once a trip from the time I was tall enough. I think I was about 4 the first time I went on it. By about age 9, I decided that I liked it. It only took...five years and about 10 trips. :joyfull:

I had to ride the TOT for the first time alone. I was on my HS grad time with my parents. They wouldn't ride, my mom was deathly afraid of drops and wouldn't let my dad ride as she thought anything extreme would give my dad a heart attack. A couple of years later my sister, bro-in-law, and I snuck Dad on RNRC by telling mom it was just like Big Thunder but went upside down, and she allowed him to go!

Anyway, after riding Tower the first time by myself, I had been totally scared and freaked out, but I got off the ride and I got back in line right away. It was so awesome and as remained one of my favorites.

Time: A moment ago

Place: Phil's house

At rise: The TV is on and Wheel of Fortune is playing as Phil and Buddy get ready to go out to dinner. One of the prizes on Wheel of Fortine is an all expense paid trip to Orlando, with a stay at the Orlando Hilton.

Buddy: Why can't I go to the Orlando Hilton???

Phil: because you're never going to Orlando again!!!

And, scene.
Technically WDW isn't in Orlando. :D

Wasn't that Da Vinci who was an inventor? The Agony and the Ecstasy was great, but it is LONG. I think it was something like 800 pages.

Probably already been answered ;), but...
Yes, Da Vinci was an artist as well as a prolific inventor. Michelangelo is credited with inventing certain techniques pertaining to art and also doing drawings for inventors, but, was never really considered an inventor himself. :)

The hospital bill wasn't covered by insurance. We had to get a bank loan to pay the hospital. College and kids are a difficult mix. Not impossible, but hard. We had a celebration when we paid her off, just like when we paid off the house. ;):D
Both of ours were totally free. We did have insurance, but, there was a large co-pay involved. However, my wife was an RN that worked at the hospital so the co-pay was comped. They both ended up being pretty expensive by the time they got through college, but, I now can look at it as money well spent.

Discouraging to see this morning that a separate thread in Chit Chat yesterday, created by prberk, (one of our nicest forum members), was removed. He wanted to share the news about Orlando, and posted it a few hours after the incident, yesterday morning. People shared comments in his thread about the senseless tragedy. I shared that I saw on TV, the many people offering to donate blood, and how businesses in the area were providing free water and food to people waiting in long lines. (Even after an evil event, there's always good people that volunteer their help.) A few other members mentioned different opinions about a debate on firearms.

Anyway, I logged out here yesterday around 4:30 p.m., and this morning I noticed the entire thread was removed. Not sure where the thread went after I last saw it yesterday; but obviously, it got derailed enough for it to be deleted by the mods. I only wish that the respectful tone to acknowledge the victims could have been maintained in that original thread, (and other side discussions could have been taken to a different thread, to discuss those only), as I think that was prberk's intent, to just share a thread to express our condolences and/or prayers.
I still wonder why they didnt just block that thread and prevent trolls from pouring in instead of deleting.
