I'm watching fireworks from all the places I want to live around the world.

Sometimes, dreaming about what you want is almost as much fun as being in those places! Thank goodness for our dream function; it's probably saved my own sanity a few times over the years.

Our historical district has all sorts of ordinances one of which is white lights for holidays. They also regulate residents on what color their house can be painted or the window replacements, types of garages that can be built and with what materials. It is a long annoying list.

We decided to stay home this year because it's so darn cold out. My sister is in management at a main entertainment venue here in Akron and we usually go to see whomever is playing there and walk around downtown. We went to the Chinese buffet, watched all the kids shows on Nick this evening and are heading to sleep soon. Happy New Year everyone!

That sounds like a great evening together for the both of you. There's no cookie cutter way to celebrate New Year's; everyone does what they enjoy and that's what it's all about.

Last night, I actually stayed awake until about 11:20. Fell asleep, and woke up at 12:15 AM--15 minutes after midnight! Argghh. I wanted to see the Times Square midnight festivities on TV; the tv was on, but I was asleep!!

Yep it is a problem. That is the Iconic Morton Salt building. The wall took out some of the structure of the roof too. Most of the cars damaged are cars in for service in the lot of the Acura dealership. They have loaner cars until the autos can be replaced in about 2 weeks. The salt can't be removed from the Acura dealership until they figure out the structural issues with Morton's. It is going to be a while. Snow will only complicate the problems for both.

Wow. what a problem they're dealing with now. Aside of that, what actually stood out to me in this photo was the actual Morton Salt painted logo on that building. Ever since I was a tot, there's always been Morton Salt on our table!! Oddly enough, I thought it was so cool to see where this is actually made (Chicago).

We're watching the TMZ's 2014 walk of shame. Lots of famous, wealthy folk doing lots of stupid things again this year to be placed on the dishonor list.

I've been using 8 for two years now. My old laptop did not have a touchscreen. This one does. Worlds easier. I basically set my old one up to work like Windows 7.

If you don't like the start screen, you can download a replacement like the old Windows 7 start menu. I like start menu 8.

I have it on my laptop and my brother's so that if my dad needs to use one of the laptops, he can find everything. You can customize it to make it work the way you want it to work. To get to the windows 8 start screen, you either hit start -> switch to metro or swipe in from the right side and hit start.

It is something that you have to use continuously to get used to. I'm not surprised it's confusing your daughter as it confused me at first.

Both you and @Cesar R M are very talented with computers. Thanks for always sharing tidbits with us all. It's wonderful having a few computer geeks here on the forums!
