These use to work most of the time. 2 years ago when we took out the 100+ year old pines front and back  I had the tree guys give the 60 year old Locus Tree a hair cut. Could be reached with the telescope above the power and phone lines. It was the first time we had to bring in an outsider. This summer we lost an Ash tree on the easement in the front of the property. Not amused with those little tree eat'n buggers.

My Pop has 2 of those. :)

Yes...especially in the historic districts. Only white lights are allowed. You see this sort of thing more in the smaller historic towns. These rules are especially designed for people like me who like a lot of color.;)

Our historical district has all sorts of ordinances one of which is white lights for holidays. They also regulate residents on what color their house can be painted or the window replacements, types of garages that can be built and with what materials. It is a long annoying list.

Happy New Year's Eve greetings to everyone! I'm just waiting now for the Chinese food to arrive. :hungry: :hungry:

I hope everyone has a great evening, and I hope that @JenniferS doesn't end up driving people around again, during the wee hours of the morning! ;)
We decided to stay home this year because it's so darn cold out. My sister is in management at a main entertainment venue here in Akron and we usually go to see whomever is playing there and walk around downtown. We went to the Chinese buffet, watched all the kids shows on Nick this evening and are heading to sleep soon. Happy New Year everyone!

Anybody want a new car with mounds of salt on it. Chicago

Yep it is a problem. That is the Iconic Morton Salt building. The wall took out some of the structure of the roof too. Most of the cars damaged are cars in for service in the lot of the Acura dealership. They have loaner cars until the autos can be replaced in about 2 weeks. The salt can't be removed from the Acura dealership until they figure out the structural issues with Morton's. It is going to be a while. Snow will only complicate the problems for both.

maybe she used the box for size comparison.
Reminds me on imgur (photo sharing website) where they always say "put a banana for comparison".

With all the food I prepared today I was at the boil stage, first up was dicing potatoes for potato salad and Jason Potatoes along with boiling more water for the Jello. You are right though. I often put a standard sized object in photo give an idea of size of what I am photographing. This was just luck. Worked though. :joyfull:

One of my kids friends arrived in Austin yesterday night. Wasn't there 45 minutes and she was riding a mechanical bull. Said Texas is as cold as Illinois. Found it odd they cancelled fireworks 'cause of cold weather.
