I've been playing songs on the bells at the top of the forums today, because I figure they'll be gone soon, now that Christmas is over. :(
Yes, it's New Years Day... time to box up the Christmas stuff for yet another year. I like the holidays, but, for some reason when everything is cleaned up and put away it seems like a relief to me. It's better then when one puts them up.
I think it's a great idea! As a matter of fact, I hung out in my jammies until almost 8:00 this morning. :p It was fun to have a late morning on a weekday, before I finally went out for a long trek in the woods. It was 11 degrees here this morning, and the cold outside always gives me energy. It was a nice start to New Year's Day, 2015! :joyfull:
Go ahead, we are all waiting for you to say... "The cold never bothered me anyway." Is that about right? Elsa? Your cover has been revealed.;)

Wow. what a problem they're dealing with now. Aside of that, what actually stood out to me in this photo was the actual Morton Salt painted logo on that building. Ever since I was a tot, there's always been Morton Salt on our table!! Oddly enough, I thought it was so cool to see where this is actually made (Chicago).

They started working on the building, shored up the roof, hopefully the roof can be saved. A bit of old time history.

Yum, yum, yum . . . hey, I just had a thought. We have a ton of Chinese food left over from last night (hard to believe, we pigged out like you wouldn't believe . . .). Let's do a swap for today: I'll send the leftover Chinese to your house, and you can send over that delicious leftover ham meal to mine! ;) :hungry:

Deal. We all love Chinese food. What's on our menu?

I think that looks like fun! Good for them for enjoying the outdoors. Even though I don't play hockey, I have figure skated many times in my life and can appreciate a beautiful outdoor rink like that; it's so much nicer than skating in an enclosed, indoor rink. :)

Right there with ya sister friend. I skated a great deal, outdoors when I was a kid. Then the park district built an indoor facility, which wasn't free like the outdoor one. Little by little most of the outdoor free ones went away in the neighborhoods.

the structural problems seems to be very easy to understand in my opinion.. THE MORTON's SALT STORAGE BUILDING HAS WAY TOO MUCH SALT INSIDE.

Salt shed are pretty darn cool. I have not been in that one but I've been in many for road salt. The system is simple but watching a load come in or out is interesting.

I've been using 8 for two years now. My old laptop did not have a touchscreen. This one does. Worlds easier. I basically set my old one up to work like Windows 7.

If you don't like the start screen, you can download a replacement like the old Windows 7 start menu. I like start menu 8.

I have it on my laptop and my brother's so that if my dad needs to use one of the laptops, he can find everything. You can customize it to make it work the way you want it to work. To get to the windows 8 start screen, you either hit start -> switch to metro or swipe in from the right side and hit start.

It is something that you have to use continuously to get used to. I'm not surprised it's confusing your daughter as it confused me at first.

Yep, it is going to take some practice and some trial by error I am sure. It has only been a week and I have had little time to play yet. Hopefully it will go better the more I become accustomed to it. I did survive Vista for many years afterall.
