The Chit Chat Chit Chat Thread

Today I was at my grandsons baseball game with my daughter. She was talking about getting older (she turned 40 in April) and how, even though 40 is the new 30, she was telling me about how when she sits for awhile, she is stiff when she gets up. And she is a runner, not an obsessed one, but, she does run with the dog. I told her about that discussion we had on this thread about not giving up until we have no choice. I said, that in spite of the fact that I was getting older, I didn't plain on just giving into it until I had too. Also that despite the thought that 60 was the new 50, it didn't seem like that to me. She said, in a surprised tone... "Dad, you do realize that you are almost 70 years old don't you?" I said... "well, I do now, thanks for pointing that out, I had been trying not to think about that". :jawdrop::joyfull:

We are only as old as we remember we are. Young at heart and all that...:)

Yup. Worse than I thought too. I was at the Orioles game last night, and it was absolutely throbbing. I took Advil, and it barely touched it. I had been thinking about getting a glass of wine anyway, and once it was throbbing, I was like, "Wine." Which actually really helped and I haven't need painkillers since then. Not that alcohol is great for that purpose, but at least it stopped hurting enough for me to enjoy the game.

Oh my. Sympathy like. Hope it gets better soon!

Don't get too attached to the hooch...! ;)

A few weeks ago hubby and I decided to go back to Disneyland in July and we were planning to stay on Harbor (across from the main pedestrian entrance) this time but the Best Westerns they were all booked up. So I booked the Best Western Stovall's on Katella (across from Paradise Pier). We stayed at the Stovall's for our first visit, and 9 nights in July of 2015 and in December for 5 nights, so it feels like home.

Anyway long story short. I decided to try the Best Western site and see if anything had changed. I was able to get into one of the Best Westerns on Harbor. It will cut down our walking time by 10 minutes and we have stayed there before too and liked it. But I am left feeling a little bummed about cancelling the other. It doesn't make any sense and I feel silly. Oh well, I'm sure at the end of the night in July when it is time to walk back to the resort I'm sure my feet will thank me.:)

I'm picking Austen for our vacation next year. We do two trips a year now. One in Disney with the kids and grandkids, and one outside of Disney. We want to see some of the U.S. We have been to Austen, long ago, I just remember it being so much fun. Would love to meet you and of course your dear wife.

Seriously, if y'all head this way, we'll definitely meet up...! :)

Well if you head down to Austin maybe @donaldtoo can repost his photos of a river not too far away from him where you and your DH can float down a real lazy river and even tote along some margaritas as you float on down. :D

Yep, it's a fabulous tube float down the Comal River in New Braunfels, Texas, but, there is a tube chute and one rapid area if you do the entire route. Awesome fun for us, but, not for some. But, if you study the route on a map, you'll know where you can get out of the river before them, and gently put yourself back in the water after them. It's quite a long float, so that really wouldn't be too inconvenient...! :)

I love this picture, will do the print. Thank you.:inlove::inlove::inlove:

Thanks! It is one of my favorites of Walt, my Pup that loves his creature comforts. It is so funny to watch him manipulate his pillow, he will fold and unfold it throughout the night or move it around.

Funny thing. My kids were never allowed to sleep in our bed. If something was up or wrong, I'd go sleep in their room as to never start that.

things got a big worse in my country.
from 10$ pesos per scoop, to 35$ in just 2 years.
still cheaper than in the USA.. (35 pesos is like 2.5 USD)

Yep, I just checked our local Baskin Robbins (a very well-known, many years in business in the USA, ice cream chain, and a place we haven't been to in many years), and one adult scoop is $2.79...!
I hafta' be honest, I'm blown away...$2.79 for a scoop of mass-produced ice cream...?!?!?!
