Sooo...
While SIL and oldest DD were still at Kona, we did CoP...not only one of mine and DWifeys fave attractions, but, our kiddos, too.
They have a keen awareness for not only their grandparents upbringings, but, also, their great grandparents, and great-great grandparents struggles and triumphs.
Walt didn't do it for just an A/C break, he kept it (although, a bit idealistically;)) real for the time...and, he had nowhere near that kind of upbringing.
Neither, my folks.
Sooo...
"There's a great big beautiful tomorrow...!" :)

I love COP. I think I said this before but on our last trip we got to sit through the beginning three times in a row because people kept getting up to leave. Then when it was over there was a storm with a heavy downpour so we asked to stay on and watch it again. :)

Well that's certainly a matter of opinion...very subjective. I'm a singer myself and I don't like Adele's voice...she screams too much for my taste. It sounds forced...not at all the smooth, easy-sounding timbre of Julie Andrews' voice. But that's kind of the whole point...how do you re-cast an iconic role decades after said icon is unable to reprise it? They won't be able to make everyone happy because it won't be the same actress they know and love.
My thoughts exactly, I love Julie Andrew's voice, and the spirit of DVan D. Such a wonderful musical.

As I came home from church this morning I looked at the semi-raised flower bed area next to the house and noticed these little plants pushing up already! It gives me hope for spring! Even though I know it is heat from the house that makes them come up early every year, but still ... SPRING!!!!

Our daffodils are coming through the ground too. Tonight rain, tomorrow snow.

I only watched an hour of it. The best parts were the trailer of Pete's Dragon (and I never saw the carton version), Elton John, Frozen girl who I can't spell her name with looking it up and the singer who dueted (is that a word) with Kermit had an amazing voice. The DickVanDyke and the whole dancing parts of great too because I might have stayed up a few minutes extra.
We have the same tastes in entertainment. I loved seeing DickVanDyke, dancing at the age of 90. He is truly amazing.

I was really tired last night, and fell asleep after about 25 mins. :( Really wish I saw the whole show, but from what I did see, I could tell they were relying more on the entertainers to jazz up the show, rather than the history, and attractions. Can't say I'm surprised about that, but that was my reaction from the first 25 mins. Still, I wish I could have seen the entire show, as I'm sure I must have missed some good parts, regardless.

The opening, fast-paced, razzle dazzle dance number was well done for what it was, but I'm not sure if I could really relate any of that to the Disney experience overall. Guess I'm a traditionalist, and would have preferred something more along the lines of an opening trolley number with female CMs wearing those pretty, old-fashioned, big skirt dresses, and pretty hats, and the old-style suits and top hats for the men.
What a great idea, @MinnieM123. Some many people on this forum have such great ideas! I would have loved to see that too.

Good morning everyone, it's going to snow tonight, but get warmer the rest of the week. Hubby and I are still trying to get over this bug. Hubby read that record numbers of people are showing up at the Doctor's offices and hospitals. We now read that it takes a good month to 6 weeks to fully recover. I hope everyone on here stays well. Hubby found a "sick" map, on the internet and it showed where it is currently hitting people the hardest. Orlando, is a hot spot, as is Chicago, and a lot of eastern and mid western states. Be well everyone. This is a real downer. I did enjoy some of the Disney show, it was a nice change of pace from the usual TV fare. Believe me, I've watched more TV in the last couple weeks, than in the last year. At least it puts me to sleep.:joyfull:
