Sooo...
While SIL and oldest DD were still at Kona, we did CoP...not only one of mine and DWifeys fave attractions, but, our kiddos, too.
They have a keen awareness for not only their grandparents upbringings, but, also, their great grandparents, and great-great grandparents struggles and triumphs.
Walt didn't do it for just an A/C break, he kept it (although, a bit idealistically;)) real for the time...and, he had nowhere near that kind of upbringing.
Neither, my folks.
Sooo...

Yes, it was kinda strange. It contained all the elements that I usually tend to turn off, like to much talking, but, the two hours seemed to go by pretty fast. I did enjoy it though with, as mentioned before, the appearance of DickVanDyke!

After PotC we headed for our Space FP... :)

image.jpeg

Then, a 3 hr. diversion down to Wide World of Sports to turn in our waivers, pick up our bibs, shirts, etc. for the 5K the next morning...and, woof, was it ever crowded... ;) :)

image.jpeg

Live and learn moment...
They had oldest DD, youngest DD, and SIL in corral A, myself in corral E, and DWifey and DS in corral F. More details on that later. Let's just say we know how to get around that next year...! ;)

Then, we took a bus back to the Poly, so we could take the monorail back to MK. But, first, a Dole Whip break...!!! :joyfull: :hungry:

image.jpeg

We got back to MK and were on a mission to do 7DMT. About an hour wait for standby, but, we had never done it before, and we were spending all of the next day at Epcot, so it was a "must do".

Some kinda' diamonds...! :greedy: ;)

image.jpeg

Anyway, about halfway through our 7DMT ride, wishes started...the beginning parts of it were awesome enough from the ride, but, once we got off the ride and witnessed the rest of it from the behind the castle area, it was all over...it was BEYOND AWESOME...!!!!!!!!!! :joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull: Even SIL had a tear or two in his eyes...!!! I can't even begin to describe how awesome it was...y'all will just have to try it for yourselves...!!!!! :)
I have always heard about seeing it from this area, and how cool it was, but, had no idea...we have, sorta' ;), decided to never again see it from in front of the Castle ever again...! :D ;) :)

And, btw, oldest DD got it all on the GoPro...!!! :joyfull:
I'll try to post it at some point...! :)

After that, we were not callin' it a night 'til we did PPF...! :)

image.jpeg

Although the 60 minute waits for both 7DMT and PPF lost us Buzz and Laugh Floor, no big deal...they're not classics, and been there, done that...!

We finished up with a late dinner at Cosmic Ray's, and some Sonny Eclipse...! :)

Next up, tomorrow...
Tutu 5K day...!!!!!!!!!!! :joyfull: :D :)

We always catch Sunny's act at least once each trip, he so cool. In fact my insist on an early lunch before the crowds amp up just to get a good table

I only watched an hour of it. The best parts were the trailer of Pete's Dragon (and I never saw the carton version), Elton John, Frozen girl who I can't spell her name with looking it up and the singer who dueted (is that a word) with Kermit had an amazing voice. The DickVanDyke and the whole dancing parts of great too because I might have stayed up a few minutes extra.

I was really tired last night, and fell asleep after about 25 mins. :( Really wish I saw the whole show, but from what I did see, I could tell they were relying more on the entertainers to jazz up the show, rather than the history, and attractions. Can't say I'm surprised about that, but that was my reaction from the first 25 mins. Still, I wish I could have seen the entire show, as I'm sure I must have missed some good parts, regardless.

The opening, fast-paced, razzle dazzle dance number was well done for what it was, but I'm not sure if I could really relate any of that to the Disney experience overall. Guess I'm a traditionalist, and would have preferred something more along the lines of an opening trolley number with female CMs wearing those pretty, old-fashioned, big skirt dresses, and pretty hats, and the old-style suits and top hats for the men.

LOVE your COP pictures!!!!! That remains one of my absolutely favorite attractions and I pray they never remove it from the park.

That would have made it even more special. I'm not far into it yet, but what I've seen so far is nice. ok a little better than just nice and I think I'm going to restart it.:) Too bad I won't have the time until later today
