It does explain things like cutting the water park hours already from 9am to 8pm down to 10am to 7pm. Or closing The Land, Imagination Pavilion at 7pm and delaying opening MouseGears until an hour after opening of parks. Keeping Kali down longer for their rehab, the puzzle pieces are coming together. Disney Loyalists will continue to go. Infrequent visitors will not bond with Disney if they have to wait in line too long for food, to check in, wait longer for transportation and parks on shorter hours seeing less at higher prices.

I comprehend what they are doing, they did somewhat similar with the My Magic Experience/Magic Band cost overruns. I do question the Disney practice of sabotaging your parks that are doing well and messing with your employees and expect everything to work out for the better. FP+ will be harder to get, ADRs will be, less staff, less hours. This is going to be interesting.
I still think having less people at the shops is one of the most stupid things I've read.. EVER.

How do you want to get people to buy your stuff is there is a huge line because there are not enought cashiers?
If most restaurants weren't DR, You bet they would stand up and get annoyed if a server takes more than 30 minutes to get to them.

I felt like I paid my dues, we camped for 20 years, all we could afford then, I loved some of it, some not so much, by the end I was tired of fixing every meal on a campstove, and washing pots and pans.
Way back when a few of my friends and I wanted to go to DC for 4th of July fireworks and all we could afford was a campground not too far from the Metro. All I have to say about that trip is that the music and fireworks were great. That's not exactly true the campground did movie night and they played Disney movies indoors in A/C. I did get called a good sport as I was the only female who wound up going, at least I got my own tent:D

You can likely hold onto the October resevations for a bit longer to see how it all shakes out. Don't know yet how cash on hand short they are. It might be done with by summer. Disney will be hard pressed in the summer to close so much up and understaffed their parks and not have total anicary. I'd wait it out a while.
^^^^^THIS is what I'd do @betty rose. You can always find somebody to rent points to if need be with a month or so's notice.

OK, so youngest DD and DWifey went over to mom and pops a little while ago to borrow an extra carry on bag for the trip. Then mom remembered she found an old faded drawing in a box in the attic just the other day that I had done years ago. I remember drawing this in 7th grade art class. They totally surprised me with something I had long forgotten about...! :)

Sitting in a hot tub at a ski resort in Colorado (or anywhere similar ;)) enjoying some cold ones in the evenin' and doin' same...?!
Done that a few times. It's really cool with the snow falling all around and on you. :)
I remember one year at Avon/Beaver Creek, we were in the big tub at the condo, and I realized we were out of beer and mentioned I was gonna' head back to the room to get some more. No sooner had I said that than an arm with a fresh beer in hand extended through the steam towards me. I couldn't even see who it was 'til I waved some of the steam away. Some dude we didn't even know and his friends. Well, we knew them now.
And, I did eventually end up goin' back to the room to get more of ours to share with them.
Just one of the many cool memories from those trips...! :)
When I was in high school, there was a speech tournament every year in Thermopolis, which is known for its hot springs. Our speech team always stayed at this one particular hotel and they had an outdoor hottub fed by a natural spring. We always went out and sat in the hot tub, and there was always snow on the ground. But this outdoor section of the pool here isn't a hot tub...it's heated, but not real warm...just enough that it's at about the same temp as the indoor section, which is around 88 degrees or so. Relaxing in a hot tub is great, indoor or outdoor, snow or not. But this just isn't heated enough for that. Although, at least this one here is attached in the water, so you don't actually have to get out of the water outside. The hot tub in Thermopolis was outside in a courtyard, so you had to get out and walk back to the building soaking wet in the snow.

I agree with you 100%. What I've noticed over the years is a cultural shift to "instant" everything. With the speed of the internet, online shopping, fast food restaurants, etc. (to name just a few examples here), people of all ages are being conditioned to think that anything past a few minutes of waiting is unacceptable. I try to avoid that mindset for myself, but even I fall into that trap from time to time.

Back when I was a kid in parochial school, I recall the nuns telling us that patience is a virtue. IMO, patience is getting kicked to the curb these days. For a huge company such as Disney to not acknowledge this fact, is beyond my comprehension. Whatever pittance they save by cutting some staff hours, etc., will translate to some lost sales. Now, they can always adjust this down the road if the sales drop enough, but the fact that they're pushing the envelope to see how far they can go, is aggravating to me for a company of that size and wealth.

That was hilarious. My other personal favorite is the "Why is there nothing in Epcot and DHS for girls?" Once I got over the fact that there still exist people, especially women, who think that way, it was pretty funny. Especially when the OP said something along the lines of, "Girls don't like Star Wars" and someone tagged me. :hilarious:
I know LOTS of girls who love Star Wars. One of my best friend's daughter is 10 and gets a Star Wars advent calendar every year in December, and I sent her a whole bunch of Star Wars stuff for Christmas.
When hubby and I were on our honeymoon in 2001, we went to Universal Studios for a couple of days. At that time, they still had a Star Wars ride there...I think it was kind of a simulator ride or something, but there was a height restriction. Hubby and I got to the front of a line after like...an hour, and then they had a sign right at the end of the line that said if you got motion sickness, it wasn't a good ride for you to go on, so I opted out, but I couldn't go back through the line the way we came. So they had a waiting area at the end where you could meet your party when they finished riding. While I was waiting, there was a 4 year old girl sobbing because she had been told she was too small to ride and Star Wars was her FAVORITE. She had been so looking forward to riding. And the mom was angry because right next to them, a little boy who was even smaller than the girl was allowed to get on. They didn't think anything of it because he was a boy, so they made an exception for him because he was so excited about it...but not for the little girl. I felt sooooo bad for her. Why do people think girls can't handle that kind of stuff?

I understand.. What I mean is.. as soon they leave the hot water to get to the house. Its going to be VERY COLD.
Oh, no. Sorry, I misunderstood that. But no...the water isn't hot...just heated to about the same temp as the indoor part, and it's attached, so you don't actually leave the water to go from one part to the other. So you swim back into the building and swim for a while more before you get out. No problem. It was actually quite nice to go back in because it felt a lot warmer inside, even though the water in the outdoor part is a bit warmer than the water inside.
